Question about HP A6795A#0D1 Network Adapter
Click start, then type cmd into the run box.
When command prompt window opens type
Now if the ping failed - your adapter is dead-sorry
If it comes back without packets lost - adapter is fine and your neighbors are onto you (just jocking) adapter is fine and there maybe another hundred reasons , but they all have to do with networks.

This is another problem with these models covered by the extended service enhancement. It is likely the motherboard. There is a small chance that it is the wireless card as well. You can try getting hp to cover it if your laptop qualifies via the link below. Otherwise you can send it in for service to a repair facility that does board level work.
