Onkyo TX-8522 stuck on standby

My Onkyo TX-8522 is stuck on standby. I read the manual and tried all the solutions suggested in the manual. Is there a way I can reset the system without sending it in to the manufacuture?

This is Not a real Fix, However it stops the problem!
Do not plug any power cords into the Receiver.  I have found that using the "switched or unswitched" plugs in the back cause the trouble.

How do you connect a sub woofer to a Onkyo TX-8522?

Since it does not have a dedicated subwoofer pre-out, you would have to use the "TAPE" outputs. If your powered sub (I'm assuming your using a powered sub) has only one input, you could either just use the left tape out of the receiver, or use an rca splitter to convert the left and right to a single jack. (I'm not a fan of that method, though).

I have an Onkyo TX-8522 stereo system. I am trying to connect my iphone to it so that i can play music there (both from Pandora and from my own music from itunes). I was wondering if this was actually...

Yes it is possible. Any audio device with an earphone out jack can be connected to a receiver by using the CD input or the AUX input jacks (white and red) on the receiver. All you need is an adapter cable with the stereo 3.5mm plug on the iPhone side and the 2 RCA connectors on the receiver side. You can get these for $2 or so at or at Radio Shack. Adjust the volume and select on the receiver, the input you used to connect and enjoy.

See above link for one example of the cable.

Standby button stuck

Hello. Check all of the buttons on your unit to make sure that they are not can feel the click they make as you push it then they pop back out as your finger pulls off. Any stuck button will lock up your microprocessor and keep the unit from turning on. All other problems will require a consumer electronics technician to trouble-shoot the turn on circuit. If you know how to use a meter and know how to solder\unsolder and require further assistance you can contact me. Good luck.
