SOURCE: Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

SOURCE: can't put the plastic bobbin holder back into position

make sure the needle is all the way up and the bobbin is in the case the right way. check to be sure there is no lint or dirt impeding the case. you may have to take out the piece the case fits into to do this. i have found this to be the problem more times than not.

SOURCE: The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

unscrew the black plate that holds in the bobbin case and move it over to the left just a little bit, but make sure there is still clearance between the lower right corner of the case and the plate. The case should be able to wiggle a little, but not so loose it can pop out..

How do i adjust bobbin tension on singer 4210

Open bobbin area and look at your bobbin carrier for a tiny metal screw that holds down a metal piece to the plastic carrier. Tighten the screw. Be careful though...the plastic can strip.

Bobbin won't spin to allow needle to catch thread

sometimes when you break a needle it can cause the machine to
jump time, the machine would have to be taken to a sewing machine
shop to be checked by the technican

How to load the bobbin

your manual should tell you as machines differ from make to make. basically ......... your bobbin is usually encased in a holder which is set under your needle, usually accessed through a sliding plate. I have 2 machines and both are different. one is to the front of the machine and one sliding out directly under the needle. turn your wheel to ensure your needle is in the up position. find your access plate and remove the bobbin holder, put the new bobbin in, ensuring some thread is pulled through the small gap in the side wall of the bobbin case. put it back in. gently hold onto the thread in your needle then slowly turn your wheel towards you. as the needle goes down it will pick up the thread below and bring it up, when this happens put both threads to the rear and you are ready to sew. if you don't have a manual you can usually order one from the maker or try managemylife.com

How to get the thread from the bobbin through the needle plate slot?

hi.

http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/498_4205_4210.pdf this is the link for the singer website manual download for your machine. full instructions for threading teh machine start at page 30.
basically you thread the topend and needle, place the bobbin in the holder with a few inches of thread under the needle plate, and when you start the machine the needle comes down and picks up the bobbin thread and takes it back up through the hole in the needle plate.
i can recommend reading the full manual, as there are a lot of little tips on how to get the best out of your machine.

hope this helps.

Bobbin case does not stay in place

I looked at the 4210, here http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

And I do not see any adjustment. Refer to the page for installing the bobbin - are you using the right size bobbin?
