The mapping info is lost after the router and wifi change . Reconfigure the laptop settings for this . My previous answer would be invalid because you dis not mention WiFi
you need to set the ip on the printer to within the ip range of your wireless router. Then you need to install a mac book pro driver for the canon i960 on the Mac Pro. THe mac pro should then automatically detect the printer and hook up to it
Can you give more details on what is happening and what system you have? Have you installed the latest printer drivers and software, if you have what I would suggest that you go into system preferences then go to print and fax, if your printer is showing up there, I would delete it by clicking on it and clicking on the minus symbol. Then click on the plus symbol click on the printer under printer name and then select the appropriate driver under print using and then click on add. Sometimes if you already have the printer there and then update the drivers there can be problems.
To Add and set as Defult Printer Go to system Preferences>Print and Scan > "+" symbol on left corner and add the printer. when you give a command of print there you can see the list of printers and you can select the printer you want to print from.
You will need some install disks to even begin working on your issue.
Your options:
Find someone with the same model MacBook Pro and borrow the disks.
Buy a copy of Leopard (10.5) or Snow Leopard (10.6) and use them. If you are going to buy a set you might as well update to Snow Leopard (10.6)
Check eBay for install disks but make sure they are for the same model MacBook Pro.
Contact an Apple service center and purchase a replacement set of install disks.
Once you have a install CD, I would recommend backing up your system by making a disk image of the hard drive to an external drive. Then doing a clean install and then using the Migration Assistant to restore your user files to the clean install on your hard drive.
Hi,
Throw away your HP disk and delete all HP software installed on your machine. It's quite rubbish.
Go to system preferences, and printers. Remove your HP printer (by selecting it and clicking on the '-'
Then click on the '+' and let OSX find your printer and automatically load the driver.
Now it will work.
Uninstall all your drivers (and delete the preferences) and download the Mac drivers from this link. The drivers that came with your printer were developed before Snow Leopard came out.
1. click a text file to print 2.on the drop down menu for printer select printer (there may several listed) 3.if printer not shown then click "add printer" 4.locate your printer model and install 5. This may require you to go to the manufacturer site to download the updated drivers. 6. check the Printer installation manual for step by step instructions Located on the CD that came with the printer.
I connected my HP5MP to the DP-300U LPT1 port. I configured my port on the DLink Configuration tab, giving it a name "hp5" ...The default login is at http://192.168.0.10/ user:admin pass:(there is no pass by default)
On my Mac, I go to System Preferences > Print & Fax Click the + to add a new printer Select the IP option Choose the Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD Type in the Address: 192.168.0.10 Type in the Queue: hp5 Print Using: Generic PostScript Printer or better yet, 'Select a driver to use...' and find the driver for your HP LaserJet 5MP. Save it. Works like magic. ;-)
If you change the IP address or password on the DLink, just CYA and write it all down on a sticky note then tape the note under the DLink chassis. There's no reset button on the thing, and if you're o a Mac, you won't necessarily have access to the Windows utility to jack with the DP-300U. So, write it down, kidd-o!
