Toshiba S4X (B-S4XT?); the FEED-PAUSE setup function asks for a password and prompts for 4 digits. 0000, 1234, 9999 don't work. What is it?

You must send a sequence to erase the password.
This is kept secret otherwise it's no use.

My computer shows a message like this on the start : "this computer system #7WQ6V3J-595B, is protected by a password authentication system, since i bought this laptop in a "used sale fair" i dont know...

the computer has been locked from the bios settings.

What you need to do now is to access the Cmos battery on the laptop, remove the Cmos battery and turn on the laptop without the Cmos battery.

The Cmos battery is where the laptop memorizes the password and stores it. So when the Cmos battery is absent, the computer cannot remember any password

The Cmos battery is like a watch battery, but its bigger than a watch battery. You can find the Cmos battery when you loose the laptop from under. But you must first remove the laptop battery before you loose the laptop. You can open the link below to see what a Cmos battery looks like:

You can also check the below link for more information about the bios.

Take care.

I turn my pc on and it asks for a password .ive never used a password with was fine untill i opened it up to clean it out

I don't understand how cleaning it out could cause the problem, but if you open the case once again, you will find a jumper, usually labeled: "CLR CMOS". Remove the jumper and move it over to the centre pin and the one which is usually open. Then move the jumper back to its original position. This will reset your BIOS back to default settings and remove any passwords which may have been required.

Best wishes,

I just hauled my very old Acer notebook (Travelmate 220) out of storage to give to a worthy cause, but I can't open it. It's password protected which is something I never usually bother with, but back then...

For that you have to reset bios settings.
Open back cover of laptop then find motherbord .
Pull CMOS cell from motherbord for 10 minutes from motherbord so all settings reset.
You can also reset password with jumper on motherbord.
Find jumper on motherbord named "clear cmos " or "reset bios " it has 3 pin.
Set jumper in 2-3 position then again put jumper in 1-2 position .
Then all settings goes to factory defaults.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

im not 100% sure what you need help with so if you want to delete all the department codes on your copier but you do not know any of the current codes or the master code and need to change the master code follow these steps:

  • turn the copier off
  • while holding down 0 & 8 turn on.
  • key in 672 press start
  • press [INITIALIZE] (you might have to hit start if nothing happens i cannot remember)
  • this could take a min then you need to turn the copier off and back on.
  • you department codes should be cleared.

please let me know if i have helped or if i have not answered you question.

Password Reset?!?!

resetting a machine back to factory default aint a good plan, all you need is to find the admin password out, this is stored in 08 mode ( test mode D ) it's code is 263 ( Administrator's password ( Maximum 10 digits ) )
switch the machine on holding down 0 & 8, keep them held down till a beep occurs ( the extension key should light up on the control panel ), the screen will then come up with Test Mode D, now key in 263 then press the green start button. you should now see the admin password on the screen / be able to change it's value back to 123456 or whatever you wish. press set on the screen to accept the new value / keep current value, then just switch off / back on as normal.
