Hotpoint 30" self cleaning gas range with sealed burners - no bake

15 months old. burners and broiler in upper oven getting gas and work, but bake does not. instructions said to reset switch on regulator. did nothing.
i see two igniters, one for broil, one in lower oven for bake. bake does not light. wires look okay and attached. does the igniter need to be replaced? does the whole burner assembly have to come out? used the self-clean feature 4 times in the last year. bake stopped right after the last clean two weeks ago. how long should a ceramic igniter last? where can i buy? help. thanks.

It may be the ignitor, they can crack and you wouldn't even see. Good news is they are cheap ($5-20) and they are usually easy to replace. But before you replace it...

When set to bake, does the "oven cycle" light come on? If not, that means no power is being sent to the ignitor. Reason? There is a switch in the oven latch, to make sure a) latch must be closed for cleaning cycle and b) latch must be unlocked for baking. On mine, the switch button gets stuck, so even when the latch is unlocked, it thinks it is locked and will not allow the bake cycle to proceed. Cycling the latch a few times may free it, otherwise you'll need to replace the switch (not that hard but a bit of a pain to get to).

I have a GE XL44 gas range. My Broiler goes on then off, on then off what could it be?

if this is a self cleaning model with the broiler at the top of the oven then i would guess that you may have an ignitor going out. is the bake working ok?

if this is not a self cleaning model and the broiler pan is underneath the oven then it uses the same burner as the bake. if this is the case you should also be having trouble with the bake function.

The first thing to check is the wiring and make sure it is all secured and connected properly.
Then check the bake element and use an ohm meter to check for continuity,if there is no continuity the replace the element.
if those items are good then you will need to replace the electronic control boardor commonly called the clock timer.

My maytag gas oven model #MGR5755QDW makes a loud poof noise when first turned on. It doesn't do it all the time and it only happens when it is first lights.

You are getting a delayed ignition fom the oven burner. Either the ports on the burner near the ignitor are clogged or you have a weak oven ignitor. part # 12400035 @ $70.00

Broiler works, but oven does not.

oven is equiped with two elements one,< upper > for broiler and the second < lower > is for baking . The bake element is probably damaged and no longer working,< damage is just from use the element has failed >, to know for sure element has to be tested for continuity to confirm this,< unless it is obviously damaged, broken or burnt and seperated >.

chances ar erte hlower oven door , is your broiler, the older models didnt have a seperate broiler inside oven, rather they used 1 burner bar ,and depending on wher oyu place the food you would either bake(above) or broil( under) made sense, just pain in the rear to bend down to use it. as far a knob and gasket , perhaps you can find a model number under the main top assy so we can look up for you
