There are a few possibilities in your situation. The most likely scenario is that the system has locked up similar to how a computer can lock up. Since the remote isn't even working this leads to me to believe this is the case. Go ahead and unplug the unit from the wall and leave it unplugged for about 40 seconds at least. Go ahead and plug it back in. In most situations this will take care of the problem. There really is not much more to the unit than that, it's very simple from a mechanical standpoint.
If this does not correct the unit then you have serious mechanical issues internally in the unit and will need to get the item checked out by Bose. There's a good chance it is still under warranty, give them a call at 1-877-210-3782 if my suggestion doesn't work.
