I have a kenmore ultra wash dishwasher that won't drain

Pull it out and you drain pipe should go into a external drain pipe, sometimes they get blocked on the 'U' bend and need un-blocking. If its not that it may be a draining pipe on your machine and could need dealer attention. although it sounds a little hard its an easy job un-blocking 'U' bends and adjoining pipes its all pull/push fitting and may require a phillips screw driver to unscrew the pipe work off the wall first!!

Saniplus toilet when toilet is flush the masorator tank leaks around the lid, nnot nice seeing \yuck streaks run down

Is not recommended to use 90 degree elbows in the discharge pipe. Is recommended to use 45 degree elbows back to back with a small piece in between or long sweeping elbows. Using hard 90 degree elbows creates resistance in the discharge pipe and does not allow the unit to pump out the waste as efficiently as it should.

The water wont go down and the motor is huming. What can I do?

Humming as in has power but appears to not be doing anything? If so, it's likely stalled because of a jam or clog. Going to have to put on some gloves etc and explore the tank for starters. My recollection is that Saniflo has all their installation, maintenance manuals online (Google is your friend ;) ). Be sure the unit is unplugged before opening up the tank! It's possible, although less likely that the clog is in the piping leading to the macerator or in the bowl, you can try a plunger also... Good luck!

Saniplus pump runs and pumps a cup of water and

unlikely to be a vent problem - more likely a semi blocked 22mm outlet - hence the problem with the old unit & the new one. Tricky to solve as 22mm pipe runs are too small for conventional pipe cleaners. Some plumbers use compressed air to clear, others us pressured water (jetter) unfortunately it always ends up a bit messy.

It keeps making noise becasue the pump is still trying to get rid of the water inside.

it can't get rid of the water most likely because their is a blockage in the waste water pipe.

if possible follow where the waste pipe runs to. if it goes in to a loft or somewhere else VERY COLD there is a good chance that it has frozen somewhere along the pipe.

If you are tying to pump the toilet waste vertically (upwards) then as soon as you turn the power off to the saniflo, the waste will fall back down and in to the toilet - or over the top in your case, sorry!

You might want to accept the inevitable and get a bucket and start removing the waste water from the bowl. Make sure that you have rubber gloves and I suggest goggles and something protecting your mouth - in case you get splashed.

Easiest solution, is to remove the excess waste water, turn off the saniflo, pour some bleach in to the toilet bowl, then cover the bown securley with cling film to keep the rank smell at bay.

Other wise, start tring to follopw the waste water pipe and warm it up, either by directly or indirectly (warm air gun) or by warming the area around it.

Personall;y i am using the easy option. the cold werather won't last forever, but can you use a toilet elsewhere in the meantime.

In the meantime, Saniflo claim about 15 years as the lifespan, but i have never know a saniflo to make it past 3! they are not ideal, but may be your only option.

consider whether you could get a proper toilet waste pipe put in, as it WILL save money in the long run...

When flushed pump starts water goes but pump keeps running when level is reached

pump keeps running - again this is indicative of a dirty / scaled saniflo. You need to clean / descale the saniflo. if this does not work then an outlet pipe blockage (22mm) may have occurred (unlikely if the unit is operating ok). Saniflo sell their own cleaner, which can be introduced via the wc bowl. If this does not work, then its time for a proper clean ( remove unit, jet clean, acid descale, wash, replace). Obviously not everyones cuppa tea.

I have a saniflo system and need to know how to unblock it

check the fuse has not gone or the trip for the electrics before proceeding as no power = no saniflo, assuming this is ok -
1. get old rags/papers and some rubber gloves (marigold type), plastic beaker and a bucket.
2. get a pozi and a flat screwdriver
3. isolate electric supply to saniflo
4. ensure loo cannot be flushed (tape handle)
5. place cloths and papers around pan
6. bail water from pan into bucket (as low as poss) with beaker
7. slacken screw to pipe on top of saniflo (outlet)
8. get bucket (now emptied) disconnect pipe and prepare to catch liquid from pipe, especially if pipe goes up the wall.
9. slip connector off pan, depending on model there may also be a connection from a sink / shower / bath to disconnect.
10 attempt to withdraw saniflo from behind pan - if this is not possible you will have to remove the pan.
11. remove top from saniflo (screws around lid)
12 when the top has been removed you will see a basket inside, if the blockage is from a female article (of the cotton wool nature) this will be jamming the motor and pump, remove any problems (sometimes a loo fresh thingy) take care as there are masserator blades at the bottom of the basket.
13 if the basket is clear and you can see the blades it is a unit failure - it is often cheaper to buy a new one than pay for a service engineer, check first.
14 if you can remove the blockage then do so - re-instatement is the reverse of removal.
If in any doubt seek professional advice, if you get stuck seek professional advice, do not reconect electrics unless you are sure everything went ok, do not reconnect electrics sitting on damp floor, best leave everything to dry out before reconnecting and trying it out

Our macerator allows water to go to top of toilet bowl and the maceraor itself seems to be leaking water on to the floor. Any ideas?

blocked or VERY dirty saniflo. This unit will have to be removed for complete cleaning and descaling. check the 22mm outlet pipework for blockages. Once spotless, check the unit for operation and then reinstall. Se my other posts for how to.

I recently had a Saniflo unit replaced after 20 years + of excellent service from previous model. The macerator serves a single toilet. It does seem rather noisy ( certainly not 30% quieter as suggested)...

David,

I am not directly familiar with this unit but have worked with others. The bubbling sound at the end of the run does sound odd. My thoughts go towards venting of this discharge pipe; is this properly vented?
Thank you,
Tom
