My Samsung started doing that and it got worst and worst. Searched the web and find answer. It was the high voltage circuit. All TVs now are like computer and it check for 390 to 400 volts and if it is below, the TV will not turn on. Good thing the Samsung has only one capacitor showing the high voltage circuit. Measure the voltage was 381 volts. The capacitor was rated at 100 uf at 450 volts. From some old TV and power supply, got two capacitors rated 150 uf and 220 uf both at 400 volts. Had to connect them in parallel and took out the old capacitor. Now, my TV works fine.
my 42 inch sagem tv is overheating, the red light comes on, then 2 lights come on and then turns off, and light stays on. and only turns off when you disconnect tv. When i turn on the tv after 1 min the light flashes, the tv turns off and the light stays on.
It is going into a safety shutdown either because of a board, panel malfunction,or maybe just the power supply not coming up fast enough. If the small capacitors in the power supply are the problem....may be an easy fix....otherwise checks need to made within. if you are tech nical,I can guide you to sove yourself, other wise a repair shop may repair for $200 to $300
It sounds like some capacitors have failed on the power supply board. Samsung is covering this repair under a special warranty. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if your unit will be covered.
these particular tvs are very sensitive to voltage changes spikes etc.first turn off main power switch wait at least 30 sec if standby come on wait another 30 then turn off main power again and unplug tv for 1 min then plug in turn on main switch wait 30 sec then turn on tv with remote resets system.then buy a ups and always wait at least 30 min after turning tv off to turn back on if not causes power failure and after each press of power button wait 30 seconds before trying again lmk good luck
could be a couple of things first i would guess to be convergance ic then IC831S (STR-X6456).and could be loose connection. you could try this to narrow it down, purchase a can of freeze at radio shock and spray it on these ic one at a time see if it stays on longer or just replace them
