In yahoo email i cant open a linked attachment. this is a brand new computer.

Hi Smith.
To be able to open attached docunebts the related program must e installed on your computer.
As an example:
If an attached file is a PDF file (eg. xxx.PDF) a pdf reader must be installed - typical Adobe.
Can be found here: - download the Adobe Reader and install it.

If the document is a word document eg xxx.doc or - xxx.docx - Microsoft Office must be installed and so on.

The problem might be as descried that the related program is not installed on your computer.

I want to save an email message to my memory stick but pc wont do it

Please follow the following steps to backup your emails from Vista on the
memory stick and then download them on in Vista Mail of another PC:

Backup emails on memory stick
1) Browse to the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Window s Mail
2) Open the local folders directory
3) Open the Inbox folder and Copy the contents of this folder
4) Close all windows and go to your desktop
5) Create a new folder and call it MSBackup
6) Paste all items into this new folder.
A manual backup of the message store has just taken place. You may now
simply copy the MSBackup Folder to your memory stick

Restore emails from memory stick to another PC

1) Copy the MSBackup Folder from the memory stick to desktop.
2) On the desktop, open the MSBackup Folder.
3) Copy all the items in the MSBackup folder and close the window
4) Browse to the c:\users\<username>\local\windows mail\local folders
5) Open the Inbox Folder
6) Paste all the items into this folder. Choose yes if prompted to
overwrite folders/files.
7) Open Windows Mail. You will notice all the email messages have returned.

Let me know if this works.

Cant open attachments

That's not a problem with Vista, rather it's most likely a problem with the web server. Make sure you entered all your web server information in correctly (pop3, SMPT, etc), and make sure your mail server supports MS Outlook 2007. Just double check everything. If that doesn't work, try completely un-installing and re-installing Outlook 2007. If all fails, try downloading a 3rd party mail application and see if that works.
