31 ohms is probably a good value for an element rated at about 500W. Dishwasher washing cycles use the heating element to keep the water hot during a specific cycle but not necessarily all cycles. Probably you have to select the cycle that deposits the soap. There is also likely a temperature switch in series with the 120 volts that is applied to the element during the cycle. Other cycles may not use the heating element. Be careful about where you put your fingers.

HI, I hope you can help! A chopping board fell of the top of my fridge and went down the ''baskety thing'' at the back, I got the chopping board back out but noticed that a pipe had been knocked out of the back of the fridge. I think it is the pipe that runs the water to the dish at the back. So I pushed the pipe back into a hole where it looked like it came from, but didn't secure it or anything. Now I am too scared to switch my fridge back on because of water and electrics. Would be so grateful for any advice Samantha

I have a Indesit IDL40 dishwasher, which was purchased less than 2 years ago. It has now developed a fault where the machine starts with the 2nd light on. It then sounds like it is filling up with water but within a minute the 2nd and 4th lights start flashing and the machine stops!!! Can you please offer any assistance? Thanking you in advance.
