Go to some near carpenter or furniture maker store or some fabrics sewing office and just ask for some white but it should not be a paper-teen material, the most thick you can find is the best one. the size you can see from yours projector preference book or for bet image it can be as follow : 2.5 meters widе and 1.5 meters tall

I am working on a daisy kingdom pattern that has an overdress and the sewing instructions are confusing.

Take your project and the pattern instructions to the local fabric store (probably the one where you purchased the materials) and ask if someone there can help.

Model Scratch Building

You may not have heard of it but scratch
building is a hugely popular hobby that fans take very seriously.

Scratch building involves building a
scale model but from scratch ie not using a commercial kit or a pre-assembled
model.

What are the rules of scratch building?

There are no official rules to scratch
building. Some people believe that you can only call it scratch building if you
use completely raw materials and don’t have any plans or measurements to work
from. But others are not such purists and are willing to use even commercially
built parts in order to build their models.

What kind of materials are used for
scratch models?

Anything can be used to build scale
models from scratch, such as; wood, plastic, clay, paper or metal.

How do I get good at scratch building?

Most scratch builders start by
practicing on ready made building kits for scale models. Some of these are very
detailed and despite having all the parts, still require a lot of technical
skill.

Once you are good at commercial kits,
you can move on to building from scratch.

How do I scratch build?

You need some kind of plan; either a
prototype to follow or a design of your own that can be transferred into a
pattern so that you can start to cut out the parts and pieces you need for your
project. At the end of the actual building, you then need to ‘finish’ the
piece. This involves trimming, polishing, painting, weathering etc. This is the
part of the process that will take your technical piece to the level of
realistic model.

Good luck and have fun.

Hi I just purchased a used Juki DDL-555. 1) It will not catch the bobbin thread. 2) it will not sew forward and feed the fabric along (it sews in reverse just fine). Can someone please help?

the material movement is set by the forward/ reverse knob or lever
not picking up the thread can be needle thread tension too loose
it can be needle hook timing

Why is my brother ls2160 is sewing fine on cotton but not on the material I am using. Its a stretchy silky kind of material. What am i doing wrong?

You may need to use a walking foot with your machine as stretchy fabrics are hard for the feed dogs to 'grip' and pull the material through under the needle.... you will probably need to change needle as well... there should be a helpful video on YouTube that will tell u all about sewing with stretchy fabrics and how a 'walking foot' works... hope that helps.

Can I make my own tablecloth?

Certainly. Tablecloths can be purchased as well as made. There are several ways to do so.
First of all many home shops or even craft shops have big rolls of material that can be cut according to need and used as tablecloth. They are sometimes waxed or laminated and therefore don't need any sawing, or the shop might offer the service. This way the customer can choose the pattern and size according to his or her own taste.
But there is also the option of simply buying the amount of fabric needed from fabric stores, where they have long rolls of fabric, and saw the material into all kinds of sizes and shapes. This permits more freedom but requires some skill

Sewing in reverse cuts top thread, help? Please!

the fabric & thread & needle may not be compatable
try changing the needle- it may be damaged
the horrible grinding noise needs to be check --the machine needs to be serviced
check for burrs on the needle plate & on the bobbin
some sewing machines don't do with strong material

Tv screen scratches

If this is the clear smooth screen, yes you can go to your local glass & paint store & have a new protective screen cut for that size. If this is the screen with thin lines etched in it from top to bottom..vertically is the Lenticular lens & no there is no way to repair, you must replace, with new or used. Go to ebay under projection tv parts see if you can locate someone having your size for sale & bid on it or email them to outright purchase it.
