No green lights appear and it I need to turn off to stop. I have tried the cleaning task which works, then when it tries to go to normal mode (ie ready to start use) the same thing happens
I had this same problem. Turns out that tons of crawling insects had been living in my machine and caused an electrical fault. On my machine, this issue stops when the machine senses the water is empty, so you can try just removing the water level magnet from the tank. If you do, you still get the low water beeping and flashing red light. I sorted that by disconnecting the beeper and light from the main board but I had to open the machine right up for this, so that will take much more effort. Didn't really FIX the problem, but did circumvent without much loss of function (except the low water warning). See if that works.

You may take the following steps:
1. Adjust
your grinder to a coarser setting.
2. With the machine switched off,
visually inspect the steam nozzle to see if it is physically blocked (for
example, milk may have lodged and solidified in the mouth of the valve). If it
is blocked, you should be able to clear it with a small pin.
3. You may also need to prime the unit
(to clear out any air pockets that may have formed). Make sure the water
tank/reservoir is all the way in. Place a bowl under the steam wand (and if
applicable, under the hot water wand as well). Turn on the steam wand (and if
applicable, hot water wand) and let it run for 3-4 minutes. This should help
clear any "air lock".
I think in this way your problem will be solved.

Hi,
As a Domestic coffee machine technician, i can only put it down to a couple of problems. the one you could try your self would be to take the shower filter out of the group head(where you put your portafilter) and make sure that is clear.
another solution you could try is to try and back flush it. if the back flushing works then its a good indication that the solenoid is working properly. so that eliminates that as a problem.
also could try a HEAVY descale, this means put nearly straight un diluted descale soulution in your water tank and press the manual button for a few seconds then turn the shot pour off. let it sit for about 10 minutes to hopefully brake down any calcium build up.
or another problem could be as simple as the boiler pipes being blocked.
