My new fridge / freezer has just been delivered but despite the guide saying that it shouldn't be tilted anymore than 45 degrees the delivery man carried it on his should at 180 degrees. Is this OK? Will the fridge be damaged? Should I wait longer than the 4 hours to turn it on and let the gas etc settle?
Emma,
I assume you mean that it was laid down almost flat on the floor? If so, then yes you will need to wait more than four hours to let everything settle. Depending on when it was delivered to you, I normally suggest to people to let it set overnight. I would wait probably at least 8 hours or more if you can. Hope this helps!
what will happen if you do not wait the 4-8 hours?
You could blow your compressor. When a refrigerator/freezer is laid over to far, oil in the compressor will get on top of the piston head and if you start the unit up, it will try to compress that oil and will blow your compressor. Hope this helps!
