SOURCE: Replacing lcd screen on HP dv4-1120us laptop

Here is one place I found thru google that sells your lcd for your laptop:

Price is about $89.00 before any S/H charges. I'm sure if you do some research you may find them cheaper.

When it comes to replacing the lcd on these laptops most of the time its done the same way. Unscrew the screws on the front lcd bezel and then remove the bezel so it will expose the lcd with a hinge on each side.

Remove the screws on the left hinge and also remove the screws on the right hinge.

At this point the screen will be loose. Disconnect the power connector from the bottom of the lcd that goes to the little rectangular inverter board.

There will also be a cable on the back of the lcd screen that needs to come out as well. Be gentle with the cable cause its sensitive.

At this point you can remove the bad lcd and then get ready to put the new lcd into place.

Go ahead and connect the lcd cable to the back of the lcd, don't worry it is slotted so it can only go in one way and it will kind of snap into place. Then go ahead and align the screen with the left and right hinges so you can put the screws back on so it keeps the screen in place.

Then go ahead and connect the power connector to the rectangular inverter as well. Now that you have the screen hooked up. Turn on the laptop and if you get video then you know the screen is good, turn the laptop back off and then go ahead and put the lcd front bezel back on and put the screws back into place and you should be good to go. I know this was lengthy but hope this information helps.

No display on screen every now and then on my hp 530 laptop...

A bundle of wires runs from the laptop to the screen past the hinge, if the wire gets crimped you can get a short that will cause video issues. If you can wiggle the screen back and forth, bump the laptop, close the top slightly, etc. and change the display appearance, that's probably your issue. Replacing the wires is usually pretty easy but soldering them back to both the board in the system and the LCD panel could be difficult.

Second HP do not make processors, especially Intel ones.
Third ,If this happens after a period of no activity on the unit then it is perfectly natural.

I have a hp 530 which i replaced the screen now its verry dark i have gone through the computer settings but its not that is there any drivers needed to fix the problem? were would i find if needed?

drivers you would need to go here:

click on download drivers and software, then in the box below that type in hp 530.

Choose the notebook that you have and then on the next page choose your OS and then the drivers you want.

Your issue though sounds like the LCD cable might be loose, or the inverter went bad, or even the screen you installed is bad. Keep all that in mind as you troubleshoot it.

Screen does not come on

Hi, connect another screen (crt or lcd) to the video output to see if the internal circuitry works ok. If it does then your fault is either the cable to the HP screen or the circuitry inside the screen. If you have no picture on the other screen, the fault is inside the notebook.

Power is on but screen is blank

You can connect your laptop to and external monitor, if this works well then you need to replace your flex video cable, if your lcd turns on white your inverter it is working well, but your video needs a little help replacing flexible cord. This will fix your problem
