If your twine cutting head spins off when started, you probably have a bad gear box (bearing went out)

Trimmer head will not stay connected to shaft

Should be reverse threaded so that the rotation tightens it. However it could also be missing a locking nut or pin.

Trimmer head won't stay on

Use a piece of trimmer like in head. As you slide it on it will likely be tight and hard to come off

Troy built 635 bump head won't turn

When you say it wont turn, i assume you mean the engine is running but the head isn't turning.?? Check the drive shafts and the clutch. Does the cutting head turn by hand or has it locked solid.? If its locked then its a gear problem in the cutting head.

I have a L123 Husquravana brush cutter and I am looking for the lock nut that holds on the trimmer head. I am looking for the size to the lock bolt.

The trimmer head is not held on by a nut, the whole trimmer head is spun onto a 10mm male output shaft, to remove the trimmer head lock the geabox by inserting a 6mm pin through the top of the gearbox, there is a hole to take it, this will lock the drive disc, you can then turn the whole trimmer head clock wise ( left hand thread ) and remove the trimmer head. Parts are available for the trimmer head, it depends on which head you have, manual feed, or bump feed.

How do you keep the shaft from turning when working on it

If you're refering to working on the cutting head without the shaft turning then you should be able to lock the cutting head to remove it. There is a small hole in the top of the gear head that you need to put a small rod in to jam the head from turning.. this inturn will also stop the drive shaft from turning.

Once you have the string wound onto the spool, place the spool onto the shaft and pull the strings out of the slots so that the string feeds through the holes without going through the slots. Good luck...Lee

How do I remove the head from a Husqvarna 25 R weeedeater so I can load the string? It is a tap'n'go trimmer.

The plate that the head screws onto has a hole that a small diameter, provided straight shaft tool sticks in to lock the plate. Then it's just a matter of turning the head counterclockwise to remove it. Of course I lost mine and had to find the right shaft diameter screwdriver to do the job.

The spindle (middle thingie) is broken

I don't know about the little lip you're referring to, but the central spindle that comes up from the base of our KitchenAid 12 cups food processor KFP750WH0 splintered and broke while we were using it. We ordered a replacement motor sleeve shaft part number KA8211849 from the Gourmet Depot for $4.95 plus $3.50 s/h. Removing the broken plastic sleeve shaft was the difficulty; it isn't glued or screwed on but somehow it didn't want to be pulled, pried, or cut off. With the help of our neighbor fix-it man and all four of us working at it with screwdrivers, we got the old broken part up and off. Pushing the new one onto the metal motor shaft was easy, and it was fixed!
