The Black Max to my knowledge is designed for digital terrestial broadcast reception only. Hooked up to a compatible antenna, it will receive those signals, but will not work when hooked up to basic cable.

We have a jvc tv with built in freeview ; yesterday we got the message on the screen pr list empty and now are stuck with 5 channels and no freeview ; how do we sort

What service company do you have for your TV? Is it dish network or direct tv etc. You can do a channel scan once you verify the service company. A cable service provider will only provide 99 channel to scan/sort while a satellite service provider will provide you more channels to sort/scan.

Max tv is mising in my starview2

Sometimes cable operators delete certain channels if they channel guys increase the broadcasting charges. It can also be that they have changed the broadcasting frequency that will push the channel to a different number. Scroll through all the channels to see if you can find it. Otherwise scan for channels again to see if iit can find the channel. If that does not resolve the issue kindly contact your cable operator so that he can clarify whats the problem with that particular channel.

Depending on the signal strength of those channels on the days you do the scan your tv may decide that it is not a good enough signal for it to even bother programming into your normal channel list.

The weather will honestly have a lot to do with pulling in over-the-air broadcasts.

Auto search through

Tested and verified solution:
  1. Set Tuner Mode to "antenna".
  2. Run a channel scan. Should get zero channels found.
  3. Set Tuner Mode to "cable".
  4. Run another channel scan.
  5. Celebrate!

I can't scan DTV channels on my vizio 52''

do you have antenna or cable? if you have antena hook directly to the coax, go to menu, TV, tuner and pick antenna and scan. If you have cable hook directly to your coax repeat the previous step but pick cable instead of antenna. Notice if you have a cable box, you will not need to scan for channel since it will be on channel 3, 4 or any other input you may use.

Element Electronics FLX2211B 22 in. LCD TV will reset every time

I have run into the same problem with a different model (32 inch from Circuit City). You may have found that there is almost no support from the co or web. I do not have an official solution but have some work arounds that have done the job for me.
WA#1 = after a channel scan tune to a HD/digital channel before you turn the set off. You need to do this each time for several times, because the set when turned on to a regular cable or analog station will default to skip all channels. After several times the set should remember your channels.
WA#2 = after a channel scan, go to the skip channel section of the menu, and if your remote has the colored buttons on the bottom scroll through the channels using the red and green (up and down on this menu) buttons. This apparently helps the set remember not to skip your scanned channels.
These are not glamorous solutions but appear to trick the TV into not re-setting the skip function for the channels.
Best of luck.
