Sounds like it's broken. Go for Panasonic next time, they make better microwaves. Here's one I was looking at http://bestmicrowavereview.com/panasonic-nn-sn651b-genius-1-2-cuft-1200-watt-sensor-microwave-review/
If this is a older machine I recommend replacing it with a new one considering the repair cost will run more than a new microwave oven, the likely cause is a bad magnetron the most expensive part in the machine.
what is wrong is that your megatron went bad, is this a counter top unit or is it a built in? if it is a built in i would suggest fixing it, and if it is a really expensive counter top i would fix it, but the part cost about $80 to $100. so it would be up to you. if you want to go for the fix write me back and i will walk you through it.
