Not good, the unit will cost more to fix than replace. The only thing that might help is if it has a removable battery, if so take it out and leave it out for an hour, & try again. You might try using the power cord instead( I dont think it will help but try it before you toss it out)

Dvd player doesnt play the movies

Try another DVD. If problem persists and it does not work with any type of DVD, whether recordeable burnt DVDs or original pressed DVDs then your unit is bad - either dirty lens or the laser diode is bad.

it can be reapired , simply a case of replacing the lcd screen, the harder thing may be finding a lcd screen, contact the manufacturer, and they should be able to direct you to their closest authorised service agent. good luck.

My portable dvd player won't load any dvds anymore

lachallep,

The solution for your problem will be needing a little knowledge with electronic repair and hands on.Most common problem for portable DVD player is their 1) Spindle motor the 2) flex cable ( tin ribbon wire connecting the optic lens and the main board)

note: to check if your spindle motor is working good, you must measure it's resistance and it should be around 200ohms.
For the flexcable all you have to do is check the continuity.

cheers.
