Thanks for responding, but the BH lever is in the upper positon and locked in place. I did move it to make sure it was up as far as it would go, and it still does not run.

Thank you so much for your help. My husband found the switch finger and it turns out the electrical switch was screwed in too tight. The machine is working great. Thanks again

Look if the buttonhole lever, left back of machine, is push up in position. The beeping sound is a warning message.

Remove the light cover, left of the machine, loosen back screw and remove left hand screw completely. Check for a small black electric switch, just back of the light. Follow the brown and green elecrtic wire.If you push the BH lever up and down the switch finger should also move up and down. If it stays down, the machine will not work and give a beeping sound. If the switch finger is stuck, push it up with the BH in top position. Hope this will help you

Thand you Theo. I followed your instructions, could not find black electric switch but I pushed the Buttonhole lever us and down/ back and forward a few times with authority then I put it all back together and switched it on and now have lovely buttonholes. Found that as instruction book says I had to hold the bobbin thread on end and also that if I held needle thread from back of needle it worked better. It was better if I sewed at a steady pace rather than slowly. Obviously the warning beep switch is touchy. Thanks again. The Manual does not even mentions beeps. Noels

Trying to thread bobbin and viewed manual several times. singer model 7258. screen first flashes C3 and then ][. cannot find troublr shooting codes in manual.

Why do I keep getting a C3 error (accompanied by lots of beeps) when I turn on my machine? The C3 error as well as the beeping when you turn on your machine indicates the foot control plug is not fully pushed into the sewing machine. Turn off your sewing machine and push the foot contol plug into the machine fully. Turn your sewing machine back on.

Babylock 6500 beeps but does not sew

Consult your owner's manual. There is usually a Troubleshooting section that might give you the answer. If it is beeping, then most likely a step has been omitted, ie lowering the presser foot before beginning to sew, misthreading, no thread, presser foot not plugged in, etc.

Just put my button hole foot on for the first time ready to practise a button hole but it just keeps beeping any ideas?

Yes, you need to review the steps to sew a button hole, because just putting on the foot is not enough. Generally there are several other things that must be set before it will actually sew buttonholes. Download your user's manual free at the Singer Sewing machine website, and review it.

E2 error code brother sewing machine

A stitch other than the buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) while the buttonhole lever is lowered.

Raise the buttonhole lever before continuing the operation.
Note Each time a key pressed or an incorrect operation is performed, a beep is sounded.
  • For a correct operationOne beep is sounded.
  • If an incorrect operation is performedTwo or four beeps are sounded.
  • If the machine locks up, for example, because the thread is tangledThe sewing machine continues to beep for four seconds.
    The machine automatically stops.
Be sure to check for the cause of the error, and correct it before continuing

Nothng happens when I step on the foot peddle

Check the pins on the machine plug to make sure none have been pushed in, check the cables for any breaks but make sure the plug is out of the wall first, if you can undo the plug on the lead to check it all well and good, failing that take the foot control and lead into a sewing machine shop so it can be tested

White 1600 SpeedyLock. Power, but foot pedal won't engage. Took foot pedal apart, mechanically looks fine-- computer board in there. Do I need a new foot pedal?

When stepping on the foot control, does the motor hum or anything? Or is dead silent? If it sounds like it's trying to do something, the serger probably needs to be serviced. If it's silent, you probably need a new foot control.
