SOURCE: I have Kwickset door knobs on my outside doors. I

Hi,
The instructions they send are almost always generic and cover more than one subject.
If you insert the key and turn it all the way clockwise, you should be able to insert the tool tip they sent you into the hole on the shank part of the handle. Pull straight out and it should come off. Some times it takes several attempts to do.
Next turn key counter clockwise back to starting position and remove key. Dump lock out of handle, paying attention to orientation. Turn lock 180 degrees and reinsert back into handle. Put lock and handle back on to door and reinsert the key. Turn key clockwise and push.... remove key.

Hope this Helps,

RE-SETTING THE CODE

You need a key to unscrew and remove the lock cylinder on the inside of lock. Enter the old combination. Look inside the hole where the lock cylinder was and turn the metal part in there to the right. Then turn the knob or lever to clear the old combination.
Enter your new combination and turn the knob or lever to insure it works. Try it again to be sure, then replace the change plug. Always test combo with the door open.

How to change entry code

First, remove the control cylinder with your "DF59" control key. The cylinder unscrews to remove. Next, turn the knob all the way to the right, and release it.
Step three: Enter the existing code
Step four: Using either the spanner wrench that came with the lock, or a medium-sized flat-tip screwdriver, reach into the hole the control cylinder came out of; and turn the cam inside, about 1/4 turn (as far as it will go), and then back.
Step five: Turn the knob as far as it goes, ONLY ONCE, then release it.
Step six: Enter your new code.
Step seven: Turn the knob (this time, it should retract the latch).

Test it by turning the knob again: The latch should not retract. Now enter your new code and it should retract the latch as you turn the knob. If so, you have successfully changed the code.

Need to take lock cylinder out

You must unscrew the top yoke from the front system and turn it upside down to unscrew the bolts that holds the lock on the yoke.Perhaps the bolts need a hammer and something pointy (with sharp end) cause usually they are headless and you cannot use any tool. After that you should take it to the locksmith and you should not try to disassemble the lock itself. It is very sensitive and you can easily damage it or loose something from it.

The solution in my smart mix will not mix with water and the button just keeps going round and clicks and will not stop on either water or solution.

The smart mix knob is connected to a piston that slides up and down into the automix assembly. This piston has come off of the smartmix knob and left the unit on water only setting. Sometimes the smart mix knob breaks on the bottom side letting loose the piston.

This can be a difficult repair. You have to unscrew the flow indicator window and remove the fan and screen(pay attention to how they come out, most people want to put the pointed end of the white screen down. It goes up.) Place a piece of 2X4, a book, something underneath the machine, between the rear wheels. This will lift the wheels into the air, and keep everything in place when you remove the hood. Take the 6 screws out that hold the hood and lens. As you remove the hood try to do it slowly and pay special attention to any hoses that might try to pull off with it. If you don't get those hoses back into the right place, the machine will not work. The piston will probably be stuck into the automix assembly when you get the hood off. It is a three inch black cylinder with an O ring on it. If you hold the hood upside down and place the cornered side of the piston into the corner of the housing between the knob and the solution chamber, you should be able to hook the winding on the knob with the piston and then turn the knob to screw the piston down into the windings. It won't lock into place, but hold it there well enough to put the machine back together correctly.

If you feel like you're forcing something when putting the hood back on, you probably are, so stop and check to make sure all the hoses are where they are supposed to be.

Good Luck
