This could be several issues. The computer could be overheating, there could be an issue with the power supply, or the DC jack is damaged. I'd suggest taking the computer to a repair shop.

Try to check if your cpu fans are working. If it is still working. Try buying a decent laptop cooler or you can add an electric fan to further cool the laptop.

Thanks. Cheers!

I have HP G60 Laptop with AMD turianX2. It gets heated up during Video viewing for more than 15vto 20 mts and also during skype cat or you tube video display. The display suddenly gets blanc, voice sound...

Not sure if you can fix it, but it's an overheating issue. Laptop overheats and shuts down itself in order to cool down. You state it's a turion CPU and those are OLD. During all those years your laptop was sucking the air from below and blowing it out so dust particles and some other stuff has clogged your vents. Soulution to your problem would be to take the laptop apart, take of the cpu cooler, blow it out with an air compressor or vacuum cleaner, apply some new thermal paste to the cpu and add the cooler again. If you feel uncomfortable doing that - get it to the nearest repair center.

It shut down automatically and won't turn on after that.

The computer/laptop is heated up too much on the same place. You have to wait about 5-10 minutes if it automatically closes, so it it gets cold.

This sounds like an over heating problem, your laptop shuts down as a safety measure. The only solution for this is to have a professional service the unit.

My Toshiba P35-S611 shuts down without warning a short time (2 min-45 min) after it boots up. The battery isn't hot but the heat dissipation fins in the back are very hot.

Indications of laptop overheating problem:
  1. The keyboard and the bottom of your laptop are very hot when the laptop is working.
  2. The CPU fans are working all the time at maximum rotation speed and operate much louder than before.
  3. The laptop suddenly shuts down by itself without warning. When it just started, the laptop was shutting down after 1-2 hours and how it shuts down after 5-10 minutes of operation.
  4. The laptop works fine when it runs idle, but shuts down as soon as you start using any memory demanding applications (DVD player, image editing software, video editing software, etc.).

Solution:
If the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust and lint completely, you can use canned air and just blow it inside the laptop through the openings on the bottom and on the sides. It’s nice as a precaution measure, but it might not work if your laptop already has a problem and the heatsink is completely clogged.
  1. Open the laptop case, so you can access the CPU fan and the heatsink. In some cases you can access the heatsink through the latch on the bottom of the laptop. Sometimes (for example Toshiba Satellite A70/A75) you have to open the laptop case all the way down.
  2. Carefully disconnect the fan cables on the system board and remove the fan. If the fan makes unusual sound when it spins (grinding sound), I would recommend to replace the fan.
  3. Clean the fan and the heatsink with compressed air.
  4. I would also recommend removing old thermal grease from the CPU and applying new grease for better heat conductivity.

My laptop turn off, I think it got hot, I can't turn it on now. turn off Sunday

Hi
try this,
unplug dc plug from laptop. remove battery.
wait a few minutes. press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
plug the dc power plug back into the laptop, but do not put battery back in yet. Then try to power on. if it powers on, let it run a few minutes, but best to keep checking to see if it is getting warm or hot anywhere. if it is getting hot shut it down immediately. If it isnt getting hot then shut it down and put the battery back in.

if it doesnt power up, then i would have to suspect heat damage to the motherboard.

Laptop shutting down

Leave your laptop on, without doing anything.
If it shuts down , you may be having an overheating problem.
If that is the case, remove the accumulated dust from the fan or fans, and try again.
(A vaccum helps here)
If no improvement, a deeper clean may be needed, which requires opening the laptop, and get to the heat sink area, clean and apply fresh heat release compund to the processor.

Power surge knocked out my laptop. Now it only starts up for 10 seconds and shuts off again. How can I replace the motherboard?

The processor is overheating causing auto shut down to prevent damage(further). Get the heat sink & if required apply fresh heat conducting paste between the processor & heatsink(if the fan is still working). Also the power supply inside the PC might not be delivering the correct voltage(3 different voltages), which will require relacement..................sodeep

Toshiba boots up power light stays on and shuts down, bad m/b ?

I own a Laptop Toshiba Satellite A75-S2131.
This series have a problem with the cooling flow to the processor.
The processor overheats and the laptop shuts down.To solve this particular problem you must tear down the laptop and clean up the processor heatsink (you will find it totally plugged or partially dirty).
Find in the internet the step by step instructions (with photos) for dismantling this laptop. Do not forget to apply thermal paste between processor & heatsink.

I hope this solution helps.

Gateway 7405 GX Fully shuts down at random intervals

It sounds like a thermal shut down when the processor over heats, one thing it might be is that the heat sink is not seated properly on the processor. When removing the heat sink make sure you have thermal paste to place between the processor and heat sink. That should give you a good starting point.
