Re: PSP Problem

Hi NarutoPlayer,

Whre the battery connects to the PSP clean that with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Also see what you can do about cleaning the battery connectors the same way. If that doesnot fix it, you may have a cirucit problem inside. Click on the "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. In the directory click on "Video Game Consoles" check with the repair shops that Fix Playstations to find a good deal on fixing it. Good luck

My psp worked for two years and all of a sudden it just doesn't want to turn on. I tried to to turn it on but the green light flashes for a nano second and nothing happens I need help any suggestions??

like all rechargeable ion batteries in electronic devices, they can be worn out and need to be replaced. the ion cells die within the battery overtime and cant take charge anymore so the battery starts to become useless. but since PSP is out dated because PSP3 came out not too long ago, you will have a harder time finding a replacement for the battery. but will certainly have them because they hold more products than any store available. thats where i do shopping alot. and they are very cheap priced. but then you will probably need someone to replace the battery for you.

I was using my psp while it was charging and the charging light turned off, so i naturally assumed that it was fully charged. But a few minutes later the battery died and it wont charge when i plug it in....

Have you tried to remove the battery and put it back in and try to turn it on. Try removing the battery and putting the charger in and starting the PSP. If it starts, it might be the battery. If it doesn't, it's either the plugin for the charger or the PSP is just dead. If it does start with the charger, try putting the battery back in, if it charges awesome. If it doesn't the battery might be dead.

How can i fix my psp when it doesnt turn on?

Plug it into the charger. Try to start it. If it starts, it's the battery not charging or it's shot. If it doesn't start you might want to look that up on the internet. It's a process that makes you take apart the PSP.

I plug in to AC charge for the whole day and try to turnon, with switch on the right hand side, nothing happened

On the occasion it won't chrage the PSP. You should double check that it is charging it. Also, try to see if it'll turn on while plugged in. If it turns on, let it charge, if it doesn't either the battery is shot or the plug-in spot is broken or not responsive.

It sounds like you have either a dead (broken) battery or your battery isn't making good contact with the motherboard.

Remove your battery and make sure there is nothing stuck in the terminal slots. Also make sure the metal contacts in the batter chamber of the PSP are clean. Then replace the battery.

Give it a little extra push on the back of the battery after you put it in near the battery terminals to make sure you get a solid connection.

If it still doesn't work then you may have a bad battery and will have to replace it. They can be found on ebay fairly cheap. (dont buy the $3 ones though they last about 10 minutes.)

Chargind psp

If it’s the 2000 series (PSP Slim), then yes. Connect your PSP system to an available USB port on your computer. Turn on your PSP, then under “Settings“, select “USB Connection”. Your PSP should connect to your computer and start charging. It may take awhile, but it will charge it all the way. Hold the display button (The button with the rectangular shape at the bottom of your PSP) until the screen goes black. This will speed up the charging process and is a good method of prolonging battery life when listening to music or other things.

If that doesn’t work, try looking for an adapter lying around your house that matches the volt numbers. The PSP takes 5V. Most portable CD players use 5V adapters and are usually the same size as needed for the PSP. I suggest using an adapter that matches the volt number and fits without trouble. If the orange light doesn’t come on or the PSP acts weird after charging, I’d stop using the adapter. Ask me any questions if you have any. ;)
