Yes the belt could have broke. Remove the rear panel and you should be able to access the belt

It won't agitate? Fills with water, makes agitating sound but barrel with clothes init is not moving?

Could be the belt has come off or snapped, or maybe the motor brushes are worn down, but if as you say you can hear the motor running then it is probably the belt.

Motor no runnig

Is it the drum that is not moving? or actually the motor? Possibly it could be the belt from the motors rotor going around the drum , the one with the clothes inside it! that has fallen off or is broken?

Dryer has power. control lights working. when you press the start button the only sound is a humming noise. will not start.

Check your drive belt which is located around the outside of the drum. The "hummmm" you hear sounds like the motor running. Normaly this motor provides the power to the belt which surrounds the outer surface of the drum (where u put the cloths)........ the belt wraps around the outside of the drum, then around a small pully mounted on the shaft of an electrical motor normally located just below the drum on the inside of the outer enclosure. This motor will be mounted to the the dryer's frame by a mounting plate. This motor mounting plate will pivot (like a hinge)..... it will also have an extension spring hooked to it which provides tension to the drive belt when properly looped around the pulley on the drive motor. When the belt breaks or snaps....... the drum stops spinning..... however the drive motor still runs. Thats the noise you hear! Diss-assemble outer sheet metal providing access to drive belt and replace with correct belt recommended for your model dryer. Caution should be used during repair........ ALWAYS UNPLUG POWER CORD PRIOR TO SERVICING ALL/ANY APPLIANCE's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Kenmore cloths washer, model #110.24642300. The other day it filled up with water and stopped working. If you try to turn it on now, it does not do anything. But you can hear a small hum or...

The belt may be in place but it appears to be loose and slipping. Probably worn out. You hear the hum because the motor is running but the belt will not let it drive. When you have it apart make sure the part the belt is driving turns by hand.

No spin agitate or drain just motor noise

The noise coming from the motor means it is running but cannot drive the drive pulley and the pump pulley because the drive belt is either broken or has slipped off. The drive pulley and the pump are driven by a single belt. Replace the drive belt if broken or loose and has slipped off. Disconnect power then drain the water manually by placing the end of the drain hose into a bucket or a shallow basin. Position the bucket/basin as low as possible to extract as much water from the tub. Once drained, lay the machine on its back to access the belt under the machine. When replacing the belt, wrap it on the motor and the pump pulleys then on the drive pulley. Turn the drive pulley in such a way that the belt wraps around the motor pulley, pump pulley, and the drive pulley.

I have a necchi model number 537fa. the light comes on but the pedal and motor isnt running. you can manuely move the needle up and down, but the machine isnt running. could it be a belt?

If it is a belt problem, you should be able to hear the motor running. If you cant hear the motor running then it has to be the foot control or cord or possibly the motor.

The machine model is actually a WDR1054 but cant find that in the list but it is a bendix washer/dryer. My problem is the bowl doesn't turn...everything else works and sounds as it should i.e. goes through...

If you can hear the motor running then I suspect the belt has either come off or snapped if you remove the panel at the rear of the machine you should see the belt check if it runs true on pulley if it has snapped you will need a replacement which you should be able to pick up in most good appliance dealers.

Hope that helps.

Need instruction for replacing a drive belt on a electric dryer Model No. DE482 Serial # 07

Best to move the dryer to a big room (hopefully cardboard if carpet is not available) as you will need to move around and move IT around some. Once you've got a nice clearance to work in, place the dryer onto its FACE-to clarify, the side that has the door that you open to access clothing articles should be on the ground. You will need to remove the back panel. This is the only way that you can replace the belt as there is a belt tensioner you will need to access also. The belt is long but not very wide or thick. There will only be one way you can fit the belt in place, have it be nice and tight, without having any slack. You might need a friend to hold the belt in place around the large DRUM (the area clothes are placed for drying) while you are routing the belt into place. There are only 3 places that the belt needs to contact: The DRUM, the motor shaft (this is what causes the belt to turn the drum), and the belt tensioner. The drum (with a friend holding the belt in place) and the motor shaft should be a snap, it might take a couple of tries to figure out how to correctly route the belt through the tensioner. When you have routed the belt correctly, the belt will be snug, the tensioner should flex (a little), and should be in the same spot the old one was. There is NO WAY you can install it backwards. Before putting the back panel on, turn the drum by hand a little to make sure you haven't missed or forgotten anything. Not a big job, not time consuming, just be careful you don't take any shortcuts and it should turn out great!

If you need more help, I found parts breakdown prints here:

Hope this helps!

Whirlpool Calypso Topload washer Won't aggitate correctly

Possibly a belt issue take the top cover off of the agitator and remove the bolt that holds it down. There will be gears inside if any of these parts are broken this will also cause it not to agitate. Let me know
