Will not stay on, press it for two seconds and the light clicks on and drum rolls, then it switches off. Help.

My son got the sansa shaker today. He listened to it successfully for about an hour. He shut it off and now everytime we turn it on we hold the button for 2 secs. it lights up and does the drum roll and then shuts off on its own. We have tried putting new batteries in and that is not solving the problem. Any suggestions?

I have successfully downloaded my sisters sansa shaker, however it will not come on nor will it play the music downloaded. When plugged into the computer it notifies me that the music is already on the device, but it still won't play or stay on.

I had this problem and replaced the memory card with a new one and the sansa shaker began working perfectly. I don't know if the problem is with how the music was downloaded onto the card or if it was just a defective card.

Replaced SD card now Shaker won't play

Hi Cathi!

Few things you need to know about Sansa Shaker and the SD card:
  1. The Sansa Shaker DOES NOT support SDHC memory cards. Only regular SD cards are supported.
  2. Maximum capacity for supported SD cards - 2GB!
  3. Any SD card which doesn't meet the requirement above might cause the problem you encounter. REPLACE the card with a supported one - SD card with up to 2GB in capacity.
  4. No software/data is stored or needed to be on the memory card - apart from your music files.
  5. MP3 file type is fully supported by Sansa Shaker.

A problem with my sansa shaker

Hi again audreytagle. Please take your slip and take your sansa to the place you bought it and show them the problem they will probably give you a new one. before you do that try inserting new batteries into the sansa shaker and see if the product works. if not use the above mentioned solution.

Music will not play on my sansa shaker

Did you copy your own CD's to the computer? The default settings for Windows Media Player "RIP Music" are to rip as WMA format. The music needs to be in mp3 format. Change your settings in Windows Media Player. Tools>Options>RIP Settings. Select mp3, under the drop down menu. Best of Luck.

Sansa Shaker

You should not use a program to manage your music on the Sansa Shaker. Just use My Computer to manually drag & drop files onto the device. Also, you can format the device thru My Computer, right click on the device and select format, this will erase everything on the device. Best of Luck
