There should be "audio out" sockets for your jacks. If not labeled "audio out", they may be labeled "line out"

Wireless headphones-I don't know the model of the element tv, there are 5 different red/white jack ends, its mounted on wall and can't see any markings to tell me which ones to use for the headphones

You might be able to get the model number from the settings menu and then find a PDF of the manual on the Element site. But most TVs don't have Red/White outputs for headphones, those are called RCA jacks and they are usually for sound to go into the TV. Try finding an 1/8th inch headphone jack.

Sylvania wireless headphones

Instructions
1
Set up the transmitter. Wireless headphones rely on a transmitter that sends audio via infrared or radio waves to your headset. Use the digital audio output (coaxial or optical), RCA outputs (red and white) or headphone jack on your TV to connect the transmitter. The connection will depend upon which outputs are available on your TV and/or the transmitter.
2
Use an RCA-to-headphone adapter. If you don't have a headphone jack on your TV and the transmitter includes only a headphone connection, connect an RCA-to-female headphone connector. This will allow you to plug the wireless transmitter into the female headphone end and then hook the RCA ends into your television's audio outputs. You may also need a 3.5 mm (mini jack)-to-1/4-inch adapter if the headphone plug on the transmitter doesn't match the television jack.

3
Set the transmitter on top of, or next to, the television. For infrared transmitters, you'll need a direct path between the headphones and the transmitter. Placing the transmitter on or near the TV will allow you to take advantage of the clear path you already have.
4
Plug in the transmitter and turn it on. Charge the headphones if necessary.
5
Turn on the headphones. Adjust the volume and settings and you're ready to watch TV.

I have a LG 19LE3300 television and i whant to be able to connect an Infra red headphone while being able to listen by the speakers at the same time. actually when i connect the hearphone it disconnect...

Hi,
First you need to make a test to adjust your headphones wireless system..
.pls follow the step below:
  • "Connect the headphone base" TO " headphones output of TV" with 3.5mm stereo headphone jack cable (than Tv should mute ) Infra red headphone pilot lamp should flicker in parallel to voice coming from TV
  • Infra red headphone should have a rotary adjustment on it.. "Volume" adjustment
  • while TV talking , when you sit in front of the Infra red headphone (it works point-to-point ) you will hear the voice of TV, than adjust volume properly...Thats it..now lets go to second step..
  • Your headphone's Base should either "3.5mm stereo headphone jack" or "RCA Stereo jacks" or "bot"h..After completion of this test ,I recommend you to switch / use "RCA Audio output plugs-white/Red cable " on the back of TV instead of TV's headphone output ,since it mutes the whole sound..RCA output plugs of TV work independently from the TV's master volume control..of course you need RCA cable to connect this..
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

I am attempting to use my sennheiser rs 110 headphones with my lcd-led tv. the componet jacks coming out of the transmitter are red and black. All my componets on the tv are red and white. so when i plug...

What are you plugging your 2 RCA connectors (from the headphones) into on the television?
You are correct, usually:
White = Left Red = Right

In this case
Black = Left Red = Right
Not sure....guess some manufacturers need to be different...
Back to the issue,
You to need to connect the Black to White and Red to Red to the TV BUT you need to make sure you are connecting to an OUTPUT and not to an INPUT on the TV. Most newer TV's do have an "audio out RCA jacks" on the TV but not all. It should be labeled at the connector if it is an output, or just another input. You can always consult the TV manual to be sure.

Few things you can do to test
  • Does your TV have a "headphone jack", use the adapter (2 RCA female - 3.5mm connector) to plug into the headphone jack and see if there is sound
  • Connect the Black and Red RCAs from the headphones directly to the another output, like a DVD player, CD Player etc....

I hope this helps,

I have Radioshack wireless headphones with a 30 foot range. I cannot hook them up to my new Panasonic Viera 42 inch HD T.V. - The "audio outlet" is a square and the headphones only have red and...

hi there.

At present, the square connector is what is called an "Optical" connector.  It's purely digital and transmits digital data via what looks to us like a RED LIGHT.  Your headphones are incompatible. Your heaphones have an analog connection on RCA Phono type connections.  The type you usually get on the back of hifi equipment.

The pannasonics DO have a headphone socket, but it is the small 3.5mm type socket.  a small round hole that looks slightly larger than a pin head.  It normally has a small diagram of a pair of headphones above or below the socket to indicate what it is.

In order to connect your headphones to your set you will need a stereo, male 3.5mm jack to two RCA Phono jacks.

If your current lead on your headphones has "male" ends, the red and white ends should have silver or gold points sticking out.

If your current lead on your headphones has "female" ends, the red and white ends should have silver or gold surrounds with holes in.

With this in mind, if you have male ends you will require a stereo 3.5mm jack to stereo female Rca Phono vice versa so that they basically lock into eachother forming a "Constant chain".

I have tried to explain this as best I can, I hope you've managed to get the idea of what I'm saying.

You will either need this :

or this :

Sometimes the colours of connectors vary.  Just remember that Red to Red (for right hand side)  and White to White or Black To White  or Black To Black (for left)

Just bought the brookstone wireless tv headphones. I have a Westinghouse 40 inch lcd tv. I plugged in the rca red/white into the audio out and I don't get any sound into the headphones?

I had the same problem with Brookstone wireless headset the only solution I found was plug in the red and white connectors to your cable box it works perfectly that way. Just make sure the red cable connector from the transmitter is connected to right red input connector on the box. I have a Comcast cable box. Now I need a solution for them on my PS3?

How to connect my wireless headphone to a Panasonic LCD TV, there is only a single earphone jack mine has got 2 plugs

That's a new one, 2 plugs would indicate seperate audio ( right and left ) or 4 . Try this go to RadioShack and buy a Y that you can plug both plugs into and then plug the single plug into the TV jack. Look at the plugs on the headphone sender do the plugs have a single band or double? If single use above solution, if double just plug 1 plug in.Good Luck.

No red plug

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the yellow on the TV unit is for video while the white is for mono audio. In cases such as this and the cable to be connected has three, yellow would still go to yellow while the red & white would go together before going into the white by using an adapter as shown below.

If the RCA jacks on the TV says IN, then they will not work as audio source for the wireless headphones. The headphones would need an OUT from the TV. Sorry.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Sentry HO900 headphones

The H0900 should come with a mini-plug adapter. The headphone jack in my TV was deeply inset, so I kinda reversed it. The adapter plugs into the transmitter, then the Red/White plugs, into that, then the long end of the cord into the TV.

Works fine for me. My problem will be posted seperately.
