2 fuses blow on power up

Hello - I have a SD-582HD5 Pioneer Rear Projection TV Monitor - it would not power up. So I looked at the back and fuses FU204 (5A/125V) and Fuse FU202 (6.3A/125V) blow out upon power up.

I called a repair service but the cost of repair is high. Is there a way to isolate the problem.

Re: 2 fuses blow on power up

Its the power pack on the system board. It has a short in it and causes the fuses to blow.....if your farmilar with replacing it you can order the part though the manufacturer.

Pioneer 58" SD-582HD5 1080i -Rear Proj TV

Like most problems with this model, check and re-solder the connections on the power supply board on the right rear of the tv, just behind where the main power cord goes in. Most problems are around the upper left corner where the white connectors E-12 and others. Check all of them from loose and cold solder solder connections on the board. Hope this helps.
