Hello

if your device has been turned of for weeks or months, this might be the cause

What you need to do is to perform an "AutoLocate" procedure

Turn off your device

Press and hold the Page button and Power ON the device

Continue to hold both the Page and Power button until the "I Agree" button is highlighted in the lower right corner of the screen

Press the Enter button

The device should now switch to the GPS satellite screen. Leave the device in clear view of the sky for at least 10-20 minutes to acquire satellites.

If Problem persists, you have to update the internal operating software of the device to the latest version.

Garmin street pilot 2610 not picking up satellite during heavy cloud coverage??please advise. Thank you jimd

The GPS signals will not be affected by clouds, rain, fog,
snow, etc. You probably need to relocate the position of the gps in your vehicle due to weak signal where it is now located.

Not get satelite

My Garmin 298 could not pick up the satelites and the repair shop said the internal battery must be changed which was quite expansive. Tried to press the red button and page and hold it for half minute or so. Thereafter I left the GPS connected for some hours and now it works. Thanks for the advice

Nuvi 200w will not pick up sattalites

Make sure you are outside and as much in the open as possible. Staying stationary is the best way to insure a satellite signal. Give your GPS a few minutes if necessary to pick up a satellite signal. Also remember poor weather can effect a satellite signal reaching your GPS, just like it will satellite TV.

When using my garmin to track exercise while on my stationary trainer, the Garmin does not record any speed or distance. I do have the cadense sensor installed and all of this seems to work fine when using...

The garmin works off of a GPS signal. If you are not moving, the GPS signal doesn't pick up any movement . . . .because you are not really moving. m Therefore, the speed and distance is nil.
