It can be a virus or if you have a virus checker, i found with mine it was the result of the virus being wiped. i would sugest you down load and install the trial version of Dr. Web Cure it. this is an awesome peice of software. run it and it will do all you currently running programs then run a ful scan to do all of you HDD's. checking currently running programs is a rare thing and usualy means viruses and trojans slip through the net. once done you many need to install Internet explorer again vis windows components from control pannel (xp = add remove programs vista = programmes and features)

Yes, It is infected with virues. You need to scan your computer from Trojan remover. http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html

Once it is complete just restart the computer..

Important : Don't forget to make system restore point before running Trojan Remover.

This is nothing to do with internet explorer. It is about you operating system that was corrupt. You need Operating System disk to repair your system. That will solve your problem. Possible reasons:

1.Maybe you uninstall some programs files associated operating system. Try not to uninstall any programs.

2.Maybe you virus attacked you computer that even you had virus protection when it is not update. it will possible to acquire virus by surfing through the internet or by uSB flash disk.

Internet explorer problems

It sound like you have a virus. I could be wrong I would back up files that I want or need to save and do recovery reinstall. then before I got on the internet I install virus software connect and update software then see if you still have virus. scan your backed up file before you put them back on your laptop
Good Luck

When I close 1 window, it closes all the other windows

Go to
www.lavasoft.com and download Adaware Free Edition, and run a scan for spyware. If you dont have a good Anti-virus scanner do a search in google for AVG free. Those two are really good at keeping your machine relatively free of Virii and spyware.

If after a scan of both anti spyware and Anti virus shows clean, reboot your machine and try to open and close some internet explorer windows again. If this is still a problem you may want to find out what version of Internet explorer you are running, if it is version 7 you could try to repair the installation and see if that helps.

Alternatively you could remove Internet Explorer 7 altogether and continue using version 6 if it has no problems running.
Hope this helps.

I suggest you run an antispyware / anti virus and also do a system tune up. This usually helps
