You have a current leakage between the positive terminal and the earth. Place a ampmeter in the circuit (remove a bat terminal ans connect in the meter) and read any current flow. Have your battery tested at a battery shop as they fail internally and short out in the plates

Check the starter shaft fork return spring. That's the spring about the size of half your index finger with the cup and pin in it that returns the starter drive gear. I've had Shovelheads do this before on an occasion or two but they only did it once and I never found anything wrong. Something is either binding mechanically or you have an electrical problem causing the solenoid to stay engaged when you let off on the button. Check for a short between the small center connector on the back of the solenoid and the bottom large connector on the back of the solenoid. I have seen the ring terminal for the center connector get against the lower terminal and cause a problem. Once the solenoid is energized, it will stay energized if this happens because the lower terminal becomes "hot" and keeps the center terminal "hot"as well.

DO a simple Alternator test. While the vehicle is running remove the positive terminal. On a good alternator it will stay running . a bad alternator will make the car stall out once the terminal is disconnected. If It stays running ? have the battery tested. also make sure all the terminals are very clean.

Did you use the correct bulb. If it has a brass base and a single terminal it may require a dual terminal bulb such as an 1157, the 1156 is a single terminal. The socket corresponds to the terminal type. The bulbs look similar but, a single terminal bulb will ground the terminal on a dual base plug, which will cause the lamp to stay on and the double time on the other lamp.

This is usually caused by a faulty alternator.
It stays on because the alternator is not generating sufficient voltage on the control winding to extinguish it.

Check battery terminal voltage while motor running with headlights on or blower fan running.
Terminal voltage should be approx 14.5V.
Ensure alternator and engine are properly connected to ground and the battery negative terminal.

pull the battery out and unplug the power changer hold the enter key for one full minute then install battery see what charge amount says if half way drain it till compter shuts off then charge, if it does not fix the problem the battery is dead.Rate if this was helpful.

simple test: disconnect + battery terminal and check if there is a spark if you touch it back on the terminal ,if not leave terminal disconnected overnight and reconnect terminal and check.if battery flat -replace if not get back to me

The negative terminal on the battery is not making good contact due to corrosion build up. Clean the terminal and the lights will go out. A poor connection results in the lights staying on. thanks ,plse do rate this solution.

I assume you're referring to the rubber cover on the left side of the body, if so, just get some black gaffer tape from your local camera shop. It holds very well and does not leave any residue on the body.

The r.e.m. terminal is the remote terminal. It needs a switched 12 volt source from your battery to turn the amp on. Depending on what kind of cd player you have there, should be a remote lead from the cd player. On most aftermarket cd players it is a blue wire. otherwise you can hook the remote up to an accesory lead that only turns on when the car turns on.
