Question about Senco & Frame Pro 702xp Framing Nailer

Senco 701xp, I press to nail and get a air hiss as low nails

On my Senco 701xp, I press to nail and get a short air hiss without nail activation. Sometimes it seems to work if I apply less downforce pressure. I have pulled back the leaver to reset the nails, and it will seem to work. Does this area need lubrication, new o-ring, or how does the automatic shutoff work, and that may be my problem, since this seems to have the same symptoms. When the magazine is full of nails the gun will respond like it is down to the five and shut down with the air hiss warning. After two to five nail attempts, it will then fire.

The problem is in the safey area of the gun, it could be the safety is only partially pushing in (what is sounds like) also, the track may be dirty and need lubed. Spray WD40 on the track and up the nose.

Also, check the thumbscrew on the back of the track by the handle and make sure the track is pushed all the way forward and tightened up

Senco Pro35 nail unloading; how?

Most of the senco finish nailers have a quick open front latch. Remove the air supply and pop open the latch, all the nails will be pushed out.

Will the 901xp use any brand of papertape 33 degree nails? I have probably 12 cases of collated papertape and would hate for them to just go to waste but the 901 is not listed as compatible.

Hello,
Most Senco nail guns are great about listing out brands of nails that will work with their guns, they are not particular to using their nails. The 901 does use 33 degree nails but if Senco does not list the brand that you have then I would recommend not using them so you do not damage your gun. Maybe you can sell them on Craigs List?
Hope this helps James

I have a SCN40R gun that doesn't advance the nails in the coil part. What could be the problem. The part that is suppose to advance the next nail doesn't move.

The feed pawl is moved by a piston that extends from a cylinder on the lower side of the guide body. There are a couple seals inside the cylinder that if damaged will not hold enough air to activate the piston and advance the next nail. The two seals are Senco part number LB0828 & LB0845. Better yet get a Senco YK0369 repair kit and replace all of your o-rings, you'll have a like new gun for around $60.

My Senco SFN1 finish nailer will not shoot a nail. When the trigger is pulled air comes out but no nail is shot. Thanks,Steve L

Not sure about Senco but most have latch you can open to expose firing mechanism. Nail sometimes gets jammed and will not allow driver to fire or if not nail push driver ****** all the way back into gun then see if gun will fire.

Senco 601 nailer shoots 2 nails each time the trigger is pulled.

the 601 had a design flaw, in the nose, where the nails hit as the are being pushed forward, the peice was made out of a peice of metal that was too soft, it wore down and that is where you get the double nail problem.

Senco offered a trade in, this was years ago, for a limited time and gave us credit towards new guns, which we gladly did

Trouble finding 3 1/2 clipped head nails 34 degrees

You can use the same nails that are used for these nailers: Porter Cable FC 350A, Hitachi NR83AA2, Senco FramePro 701XP, 751XP ,Ridgid R350CHA, DeWalt D51822, D51823, and Paslode F-3505. Make sure you purchase the correct shank nail. Nail length should be 2"- 3 1/2" and the shank should be .113" - .131". I have purchased nails for my FC350 at Home Depot and they are relatively inexpensive. Though you have to buy a case of like 2000 or 4000. The brand of nail is Grip Rite that I purchased. Any questions please post.

What air pressure are you using? Try uping that, past 90 to about 105-110 max. What size air hose are you using? 1/4" is to small, need at least 3/8".
