I have an 1800hg router that wont go to the IP page
I have tried restoring defaults and restarting and re-installing. But whenever I try to bring up the options and configure it the page doesnt load. Well, it loads, and says "done" in the bottom of the browser but just displays a blank page. Any thoughts?

Re: I have an 1800hg router that wont go to the IP page
If you have a DSL or cable modem with the same ip address, this problem will occur. Disconnect your ISP modem and connect your computer only to your router, and then open the config page, and change the ip address of the router to prevent future issues

The default IP for the DIR-300 is 192.168.0.1. First, make sure you're entering "http://192.168.0.1" in your browser's address bar. In some browsers, if you try entering just the numbers, it won't work.
If you can't access the setup page at all, that address may have been changed. If this is the case, or you can't log in because you don't remember the username and password, you should reset the router which will restore the factory defaults.Press the recessed rear-panel reset button and hold it in for 10 seconds. Release it and the router will restart. The defualt IP (192.168.0.1) and username and password (both admin) will be restored.
You can configure router with below method.
You can also configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method.
Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP
Then click on wireless and enable it.
. Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
Have you reset the router? Then restart your PC.... Reset the router to factory default
With the router powered on, use a small thin object to press and hold the reset button for exactly seven seconds. The router lights will flash and this will restore the router to factory default.
Connect your computer to one of the routers lan ports with an etherent cable. Open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.2.1. This should show the router status page with the default settings.
there could be minor system glitch on your router. you may try hard reset on the router just to re-flash the firmware. here's how to do it. unplug the router, press and hold the reset button while plugging the power back in. Release the reset button. This will bring your router to the factory defaults settings. If this is not possible then login to the web utility and reset it. or if you still can access the router homepage you may try this steps:
Type your router's IP address in the address of web browser.
Go to Utilities
Go to Restoring Factory Default Settings
Click the “Restore Defaults” button.
A message will appear asking for your confirmation, click “OK”.
Another message will appear informing you not to turn off the router, click “OK”.
After 60 second, the router’s defaults page will be restored. If it does not, then type in the router’s address "192.168.2.1".
you have to open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.254. then go to broadband link at the top of the page. hit the advanced settings then you have to re enter all you information like your username, password etc... i hope the helps you if i doesnt let me know.
