It may have something to do with the garbage disposal. Is that working? Is it clogged?

Dishwasher won't drain after a blockage was cleared. Is there a reset button for drain pump

Unplug the washer from power for 5 minutes and see if that clears it. Do not put food covered dishes in the washer in the future, pre rinse them to extend washer life.

I think you have a clogged line. the drain from the dishwasher goes up to the air gap and also into your sink drain pipe.

Does not pump water. Leaves dishes soappy

We really need your model number to help you properly. In the mean time you can check you sink connection and air gap for obstructions. Usually the cover just pulls up and off then you unscrew the cap to expose the drain tube for the dishwasher. More often than not if the unit fills and washes but leave soap on the dishes a clogged drain line is the problem. You may have to run something down the drain tube to clear it. Usually you will see the obstruction when you remove the cap. There is a remote possibility if it drains into a garbage disposal that food particles have clogged the drain outlet inside the garbage disposal. Hope this resolves your problems. Cheers!

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
