My condensor fan seems to make a weird sound when it starts and a big clunk when it stops. Is that a common failure?

"condenser fan" in a car or truck? Assuming this is an AC unit or a refrigerator, likely the fan/motor support has given way, and needs to be fixed.

I have wh Holden statesman that recently just started playing up when I'm at a standstill at the lights I feel the car like it's going to die out then when I begin to drive it starts making clanking n

if its loud knocking noise at idle from front area of motor possibly crank pulley has separated from rubber.
when motor is not running can you grab the serpentine belt and move it along rotate it from left to right side of vehicle until it clunks to a stop which is the saftey lugs on the inside of the crank pulley, turning the pulleys?
if so the crank shaft balancer needs replacing
if you cant turn belt over by hand its ok and could be an internal motor issue, big end or camshaft bearing failure were the other common faults

Struts noise?

I would tend to believe it's more likely a worn sway bar bushing or link if it's a rattle or a small clunk, if it's a loud clunk probably a strut, try bouncing he back of the car when parked, if you get the clunk probably a strut if only when driving, turning, braking probably just a bushing on the sway bar

My ac is acting funky. my ac will blow cold air as im moving. once i stop and idle for longer than 3 or 4 minutes, something will kick on and then it will start to blow hot air. as this happens, my car...

Start by checking to make sure that the a/c condensor and radiator is not full off debris. If the condensor and radiator were full of debris it will limit the air flow from the engine cooling fan which in tern will cause a high discharge pressure on the discharge on the a/c causing poor or no cooling at idle and could also cause vehicle to overheat. Check and make sure that the cooling fan as well as the condensor fan are coming on together when the a/c is turned on if equipped with 2 fans.

2004 Grand Prix GTP, motor mount & trans problems? Rear end problems?

noises or clunks in rear ends are indications of worn suspension rubbers and other rubber mounted items , drive line joint failures
the front end noise could be brake pad and rotor problems so have them checked by an accredited brake shop

My 1996 nissan sounds "clogged up" Once and awhile white smoke comes out of the muffler, but not consistent. When I first start it in the morning, it stalls about 3 to 4 times and then seems fine. ...

Sounds like water in the fuel system. White is water in the cylinders. Check the fuel filter and let me know. If its not this then I will advise further. Cheers

The AC in my 2004 Honda Accord only blows cool air when I am driving at higher speeds. When I drive slow or am stopped, it's warm hair coming out. My mechanic said the compressor isn't working properly...

it is a premature failure, That does indicate a bad/failiing compressor, or low oil charge, to low freon. If you trust the mechanic then go witht he compressor replacement and condensor. Unfortunately most oarts stores/shops require the condesor to be replaced for warranty purposes on compressor replacements.

A/C blows hot air intermittently

this is clear that your aux fan cooling your condensor is not working ,your a/c system is overheating and with speed you are forcing air through your condensor doing the job of the fan.

GMC Sierra A/C Stops Cooling After Driving a Few Minutes

It sounds like you either have an condensor fan problem or low freon. The condensor fan is near the radiator. In some cases the radiator fan doubles as the condensor fan. So look there too.

Rear end clunk in Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup

The noise is caused by the axle button being worn out, this lets the axle move back and forth and clunk, this is a unique problem with C clip retained axles, it is a noise issue but will not fail and cause any more damage, in order to fix it you must have the axles pulled and the diff carrier checked for excess wear where the axle retainning C clip rides, if the carrier is ok then replace the axles.
