Still can't get access to the Router

I have had no success in trying to access the Netgear WPN824 Wireless Router by typing in in the browser or going from the START menu and using the Run tab. The wizard starts and Identifies my Internet Connection and the fact that I have DCHP but after hitting the NEXT tab I waite hours and the entire page never loads and nothng happens.

Do I have to get a Setup CD and if so does anyone know where I can get a new one or at least a copy can be email or even mailed to me. LOL!

Re: Still can't get access to the Router

By your post/description that the wizard starts @ and it can identify your Internet Connection indicates that chances are, there is nothing wrong with your Netgear RangeMax WPN824 Router. Clicking on the Next tab does not make your browser go to the subsequent page is perhaps a problem with your browser and not with the router. You can try tweaking your browser:
• In Mozilla, click on Tools, Options, Advanced tab, Network tab, Settings button, tick "Auto-detect proxy settings for this connection, OK, OK;
• In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN settings button, check "Automatically detect settings", OK, Advance tab, check Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.
• In Opera, Tools, Preferences, Advanced tab, Network, Proxy server buttons, check "Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy, OK, OK.

Alternately if this doesn’t work, try manually configuring your PC’s Network settings:
Click on Start, Control Panel, Network Connection, right click on the networking icon (that is used to connect to the router; WiFi or LAN). Click on Properties button, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on properties button (mid right). In the General tab:
• tick "Use the following IP address"
• Enter values as shown below -
IP address: (201 can be any number from 2-254 that is not in used by any other PC in your Network)
Subnet mask:
Default Gateway:
DNS servers: as provided by your ISP
click on OK, OK, Close.

Additionally, you can try right clicking on the Networking icon (bottom right side) in your Systems Tray and click on Repair.

Worst case is you try and do a hard reset of your Netgear RangeMax WPN824 Router by pressing the small Reset button at the back or bottom for a couple of seconds or till the LEDs flashes. Pls be reminded that a full/hard reset will revert all router’s configuration to factory default.

Should you still need the setup files, they are available at the NetGear site here (depending on the version number). Further manuals, instructions and other documents for this router is available here.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

My Netgear WPN824 wireless router stopped working. With the exception of the internet LED (which doesn't come on at all), all of the lights are blue and doing sort of a slow, pulsating blink. No m

The RESET button is for resetting the wireless section of the router and does not effect the Internet connection.
It looks like the wireless access is faulty especially when you cannot reset and configure the wireless settings.
Try powering off the Netgear for 10 mins the connect the power again.
If you still cannot RESET the Netgear then it is faulty and you need a new wireless router.

Neatgear wireless router wpn824 v2

Windows, if that's what you're using, may be connecting to a different router than yours. Verify that you're connecting to your access point.

Also, make sure there is a good connection between the router and your cable or dsl modem.

Finally, you can try connecting your computer to the router using an ethernet cable. That will at least let you verify that the computer and router work together, and you can configure the router and so forth. If connecting with a wire succeeds, that narrows the problem down to the wireless network connection.

Here's the manual. Troubleshooting is near the end, but it doesn't look like your specific problem is listed...
