Sony model KP-61V80 won't turn on

Shut the t.v. off at 6:00 a. m. on Thursday 7/9/09 and when I tried to turn it back on at 8:00 p. m. same day the power light blinked 4 times and the power to the set never came on. Currently, thats all the set will do;power light blinks and set does not turn on.Do you think this is the power supply? We called Sony and they do not have a part called this, they said there are several boards inside. If you think this is the problem, can you provide a part number that we need to get and approximately how much is it? Is it something we can fix ourselves or would you suggest a repairman do it.
