Re: Overall Problem - Panasonic RX-ED707 won't work...

Only 1 reason for that faults :

there is a flat connects the top panel which has all the controls with the other circutes in the stereo...
so you have to open it and care for the cd unit it damage easily then check the flat for loseness or cuts
it happened to me also and that works perfectly
good luck

Tape deck is stuck

push the eject button at the same time get a nail file and insert it in the tape slot
on the right hand side of the deck
it may take three hands one to push eject one to push the eject mechanism inside the radio behind the tape
and one to help remove the tape
if that doesnt work....dont try forcing anything as the stereo WILL break..... take the stereo out of the car, so it is not connected to the electrics, then either, gently take it apart with a screwdriver

I would suspect the belts, look for any small motors and missing belts. You may be able to manualy turn a wheel or gear till it ejects.
if your not comfortable doing this urself with the above said porcedures... its better to take it to the dealer...

How do I tape to tape

you mean to record?first, you must connect the other unit (if you are using two cassette)by using rca plug or earphone plugs.insert the plugs to audio in or aux(this is the unit that will record).if the other unit doesn't have the output audio, use the earphone out instead.time to record.the recorder must be set to tape/aux,(if you are using a unit with radio setting).then, push the play and record button at the same time.don't forget to put in the blank tape ok.then push play to the unit that you want to be recorded.the square symbol is for stop.the arrows pointing left ,rewind.pointing right, forward.the big arrow pointing right is the play and the button next to it is the record button.

Panasonic XRB RXCT950 Boom box radio, tape and plug in CD player

It sounds like your unit has a LOT of broken solder connections and dirty potentiometers. Unless you are VERY good at soldering and want to invest about 1 to 2 hours of time, I would toss it and start fresh.

Error Code F26

Here is the link to the user manual if you need it; although of course it doesn't list that error code and panasonic no longer support the model on their site except for the user manual. If you don't mind paying $19.50, then these guys have the service manual available which almost certainly will list the error codes and their solutions; Sorry I had no luck finding that one for free. My guess is that the lens needs cleaning, and that the error code simply means "bad disc" or something similar. Best way to clean the lens is with a cotton bud/ Q-Tip moistened (not wet) with gin - nothing else works as well or as safely. This should be easy to do as you have direct access to the lens, just be gentle. If you get no luck from that then the best i can suggest is to contact panasonic direct; and see if they can tell you what the code means, if they do, and you need help solving the problem, please ask again. Good luck, I hope this helps
