If the shroud is not sealing the control module you probably need torx bits to open the unit and put the bottom of the shroud inside to create a waterproof seal. You can buy all kinds of different styles of joystick grip/top on eBay. Ball top, skulls, T shaped etc. You shouldn't need glue or anything to attach it.

Com fault codes

This flash error code of 9 indicates a communication fault. With this model the problem is usually the connecting cable between the joystick and the computer module in the base. Check the connectors and wiring and cover on this cable for loose, broken , or disconnected terminals and wires. I usually replace the cable with a known good one to test. The second component that may have failed is the joystick assembly. A local dealer may be able to lend you these parts to test or you can purchase them on-line. There are several different models and joysticks that are similar looking but have subtle differences. If you post your joystick model I can be more specific.
Hope this helps.

Put in new batteries chair still will not move

Does the lights on the joystick come on? If not you probably have the batteries wired wrong check that red on red, black on black. There should be a wiring diagram under the shroud check to make sure it is correct. If the joysticks comes on make sure that you are not in freewheel

I purchased a pcv valve but I am unable to locate it on my car.3.5L engine.2005 uplander.

When facing the engine, at the drivers side top of the valve cover facing you to the right of the oil fill cap. It may not look the same when it is installed because it has a black plastic 90 degree nipple that you may have to remove and reinstall on the new pcv valve. The pcv valve fits into a black rubber bushing in the valve cover.

Joystick in programming, inhibit and/or charging modeand chair will not run.

This is usually due to either the joystick getting knocked off center or a fault in the control module. If the joystick has suffered a hit such as somebody falling onto it while getting in the chair, or running the joysitck under a table or counter-top(happens often), it knocks the alignment off so that the controller thinks that the joystick is activated, and it will prevent the chair from moving until it is back in its proper location. Examine the joystick for signs that it has suffered a trauma such as the rubber boot being torn, dents on the cover, paint from a collision, etc. Invacare is going to charge you about $1,300.00 for a new joystick, or, you can try sending it to a repair shop. I found one here that I used once and it turned out cheaper...by a lot$. Here's the link.
http://www.flightsystems.com/cart_controls/wheelchair_powered_scooter_market_cart_controls.htm

Keep in mind, it may also be the controller. The only sure way to tell is to swap out the joystick with a known good one, and see if it fires up, if not, then it's the controller. Get your wallet out. I don't know of anywhere to go but to Invacare for the controller. You don't say what kind of wheelchair it is, but if it is one that the controller is built into the joystick then the link above should be able to fix it. If the controller is separate and located in the base, then you have to buy a separate controller from Invacare. To tell, the all-in-one controller will have a very thick chord running from it down into the base; about 3/4" diameter. A separate joystick and controller-in-base will have a smaller chord, about pencil-sized running down into the base fronm the joystick, and will lead to the controller in the base. Good luck.

Motor Wiring

Two white wires are for the electric brake.  When the wheelchair is turned off while on an incline, the motors automatically lock up, preventing the wheelchair from rolling backwards.  The white wires disengage the electric brake when power is applied.
