IPhone can't make calls... "network lost".

Ladies and gentlemen!
Before you restore or update your cracked iPhones or doing anything silly to get you further in a soup allow me to suggest a simple technique that worked for me.
My problem was quite similar to the one you guys have posted above. I could do everything else with the iphone, even receive calls but when it came to making calls, the phone wouldn't let me do the same. It would return a Call Failed message!
If you have the same issue try the following:

Go into the phone settings and turn call forwarding, call waiting, show my caller id, and TTY off and reboot.

If that doesn't work try turning call waiting, show my caller id, and TTY on and reboot and it should work.

I'm not sure why this would work but it did for me and I hope it also does for you. Good Luck

This is what I did the first time I got the ‘Repair Needed’ error on my iPhone:
1) Take out the Sim
2) Turn off your iPhone
3) Turn it back on
4) You will get a message, something like “No Sim”
6) Insert your Sim Card
5) It will take a moment to activate, then your all set.

You are not going to want to hear this - but you did update the software.

Apple placed an update in the Itunes software that crippled the cell capability for the IPhone if the declared network was not one of the two approved networks for the phone.

At this time there is a solution to this - there is a program called jailbreak for the IPhone. According to the documentation the solution to your problem is to use this program and "jail" the IPhone, reapply the Itunes update that broke it, and then "jailbreak" the phone to restore connectivity.

One of the intended effects of the Itunes update was to delete the network settings on your card, which means you will need to goto your provider and have the phone reset to their network or restore the settings yourself providing that you made a backup.

It is my understanding that the EDGE and WiFi data connectivity functions are not broken by this problem.

To obtain a copy of the program you need, Google it and download it from a local server. Be aware that as always, when you download and install software from Internet there is a potential risk - be sure to have an updated virus scanning and killing app on your system and scan the file prior to installing it.

It did not work with me. I call forwarding, call waiting and show caller my id do not work. The first sends me to forward a call when i retn to the window it still shows off. show caller my id will not turn on.

I can now make calls as I decided to turn it off and switch it back on and had to put in my password. Then it worked but still experiencing cut outs during conversation.

if you are UNABLE TO make any calls,call screen freezes,does not allows you to use keypad..DO THIS TECHNIQUE.

1- Installer > Utilities >Find application name KATE >Hit kate and on top right UNINSTALL it.
After its uninstalled

2- settings>General > about > Reset>Reset all settings.

3- Shut it off and restart after 2 mins.
