Re: 51mp392h/17

The STK392-120 convergence IC's are defective and need to be replaced. There may be smaller components that also need replacing as well such as resistors to the IC's.

Philips 51MP392H/17 PJTV. Green beam pulsating horizontally.

Most likely problem is the ACS panel if you have already changed the ICs and resistors.

Philips rear projection tv-wont turn on

Sounds like your Convergence chips failed, were your red/blue/green colors slowly seperating or was the picture starting to curve on the top or bottom or both? if so see below general post.
Also what model # is your TV and what size?

Actually I have this TV and you need 2 Convergence IC's STK392-120's (120's and 150's will work) of course order 2 of the same type I'm using replacement 150's they allow for a little higher heat and were cheaper ALSO you need to replace the 12 resistors with 6.8 ohm metal film resistors, make sure they are metal film! don’t skimp out here I did and then they blew and fried my IC's and I had to replace everything again!

Great reference link that I posted pictures on, check out page 3

Where I got all my parts that worked:
Suburban Electronics

Manual Library you should find all you need here:

What you need:
(2) STK392-120 OR STK392-150 IC chips
(12) 6.8 Ohm Metal Film resistors
set of star screw drivers
15 watt pencil solder pencil, DO NOT use a high watt iron you will fry the surface mounted item.
good leaded solder, and flux

BTW if you don’t plan on trying this and are going to throw out the TV, I still need a IC convergence board for a 51MP392H/17 TV I'm fixing, I'm willing to pay S/H and buy your IC board that’s not been tampered with.

Hello pkrocks

It looks like your convergence amplifiers have gone bad, this is a common problem. If your set uses the STK329-110 or STK329-xxx series of amplifier both of them will have to be replaced. There is a lot of information on fixya about how to do this yourself, but you have to be careful in removing and replacing the amplifiers and the associated bias resistors.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

Hello keriro74,

Your convergence amplifiers ICs have become defective, They will have to be changed out. They are usually marked with a STK392-110. You will have to also change out the fusable links connected to the STK392-110. Desolder the pins and unscrew the ICs and remove both of them. Then desolder the fusable liks and replace them with the new ones, then insert the new ICs and solder them in (being careful not to create solder bridges). Then you will have to perform the convergence on your TV, Try to use Auto-Convergence to do this.

I hope this helps

Thank you

Yes,semiconductors is the term used to describe transistors, diodes, intergrated circuits(IC's)etc...the correct generic part# for that model is STK392-120 which is an intergrated circuit (IC)which in that TV works as a convergence amplifier. The specific Philips part# is 932212344682. There are two of them you need to change both. Also check the two 6.8 ohm resistors nearby if they are burnt or discolored.
