How to find out my proxy server address

I bet you do not need or want any proxy server.
I bet you question really is how to get internet connected, right?
first off what OS is this, XP> we can not see you, your PC nor your OS. (whats connected to PC, nor if it has wifi options)
is this IE11 your browsers , cant guess that either,?

why not use an Ethernet, Lan cable CAT5/6 and plug in the PC to the router and it all works like magic,
that be first.
if the PCs lan jack (ethernet ) is dead. (and other PCs work on your router) do they./
then we go to device manager and look
see that? then see if the lan chip has driver.
network marked, red/yellow or unknown is bad.
if missing the get it from HP.

HP has zero support on old PCs, it's too old, its in fact 16 years old. support ended . 2007 (17-10 = x)
came with 10/100 Ethernet, new (spec sheet says)
slow. that is.
but what chip that is , is very hard to find out this old
why waste time and money on PC worth $5 used.?
it came with windows 2000 or XP new. which is it?
if the driver is good, or the unknown chip there, ethernet
the when you connect to the router the connection made automatically
then running relic old IE 6? you see proxy question
tell it no, and that sets automatic , gate way ip address to your router. and just works out of the gate.

install firefox v56 and its more easy.
to run and not get bogged down in proxy settings.
avoid IE versions below 11, as all OLD IE's, are virus magnets and zero support, use Firefox, on all old PCs, not updated to W7 !!!
IE = internet exploder browsers)

show just getting a connection, only. browsing is a whole other matter, and 20 browsers free are common.

S3653w dns failed

  • 1. Delete the configured wireless connection if you already have one
  • 2. Enable WiFi but do not perform a search at the moment
  • 3. Open the browser, select Settings > Browser profiles and press "Search for WiFi"
  • 4. Select the connection that you want to connect to and type the details that match the settings on the router
    • Auth type = WPA
    • Encryption = TKIP
    • Network key = router pre-shared key
    • Protocol = HTTP
    • Home URL = address of modem (you can change it later if everything is already working)
    • Leave proxy blank
    • Linger = default
    • Adhoc = off
    • There is no need to change the advanced settings
  • 5. Save the settings but do not connect yet
  • 6. Exit the browser, go to WiFi and select the connection that you have just configured
  • 7. Check all the settings are OK
    • If the channel is different to the one set on the router, adjust it on the router to match the one used by the phone
  • 8. Activate the selected connection and try browsing the internet
That should get everything working. This applies only to personal wireless networks.

My wifi button only works in differnt locations

If the only location that cause teh restart is your home ..it may be something wrong with it ...and I suggest to reconfigure the router again ..maybe the proxi settings are the issue or ..some other device already connected to your router is causing the restart ..

Http://192.168.1.254/ has been put into my home page browser but nothing happens

IP ADDRESS 192.168.1.254 is the default gateway of an AT&T modem router (RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY) (2WIRE). for this ip address should be able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem and if not your computer is connected to a different network.

1) try connecting the computer to the 2wire RG using a ETHERNET cable (if your connected via wireless)
2) make sure that the DSL light is solid and not blinking.
3) if your computer already connected by a ETHERNET cable, try accessing the same ip address if your able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem it means that your computer will be able to connect to the internet.
4) try this also:
this for internet explorer:
click tools - connections - LAN settings
( if there's a tick mark on PROXY SERVER remove it )
if you do have tick mark on PROXY SERVER then your computer have a virus, because virus can put a tick on PROXY SERVER without you noticing it.
after removing the tick you will be able to connect to the internet again.

The proxy server is refusing connections

If it's a free proxy I would be very cautious. Many are run by hackers and will plant bots and other malware on your computer.

I can't seem to get the wifi to work other then when I'm at home when I don't need it how do I get it to work. Please be simple in your answers not too tech savvy but I love this thing already, and have to...

You have configure the wireless connection at that place where you want to get connected. Like you have done at home.
Most of the wireless connection are secure and cannot be accessed.

LG Incite Wifi Setting

WIFI
connect to "internet"
authentication "open"
encryyption "WEP"
I let it assign it's own IP address

Start -> Settings -> Connections tab
WiFi -> Network Adapters tab
select "The Internet" and then select Broadcom 802.11 DHD Network Adapter

and

Start -> Programs -> Tools -> Proxy Manager
click on "Disable Proxy" and hit OK

Also, make sure you set the browser Home address to a valid address (otherwise it would complain about a connection loss each time you open the browser)..

If that doesn't help you then your lost.

Can't Connect to the Internet

Hi,

Two things you can try before trying your browser/Internet connection:
1. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon, click on Repair. Allow the computer time to repair its WiFi connection and some other settings;
2. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon, click on Status. Click on properties button, select TCP/IP (Internet Protocol), click on Properties button, verify that the option "Obtain IP address automatically is ticked, OK, OK.
3. In your browsers, verify/modify settings:
In Mozilla, click on Tools, Options, Advanced tab, Network tab, Settings button, tick "Auto-detect proxy settings for this connection, OK, OK;
In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN settings button, check "Automatically detect settings" (& pls make sure there is no check mark on the Proxy server), OK, Advance tab, check Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.
In Opera, Tools, Preferences, Advanced tab, Network, Proxy server buttons, check "Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy, OK, OK.

Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information. Hope that this be of some help/idea.

Good luck and kind regards.
