Mine won't scan, but I checked the printer manual;
Here, I'll write it down:
Place your original print side down on the left fron corner of the glass
Press Start Scan/Reprints
A preview of image of the scan appears on your computer, where you can edit it
Make any editings and when you're done, click accept. ^.^
I hope that helps. :/ Mine won't scan, and I can't find the HP Digital Imaging monitor either. >.<

Whenever I click scan, the darn thing says "check connection"
Now, I know I'm not very computer savvy at all. And I hate anything to do with connections. Would anyone know how to check or establish a connection for a MFC-440cn all-in-one?
Select "Scan" on machine and hit "start" button...nothing happens. Still says "scan mode" on machine. tried using top tray for feeding paper as well as putting on glass (such as when copying). I have tried re-installing the driver, as well as disconnecting and reconnecting power/USB cords, but to no avail.
