SOURCE: regulator ic of sony tv kv-g21c1

I am not familiar with the particular model of Sony TV that you have. I can answer genericaly:

There are a number of voltage regulators typicaly used on TV sets. These are usualy IC devices, or a complete descrete circuit. The purpose of these are to regulate voltages that are used to operate various circuits. Most sets can typicaly have anywhere from about five to maybe even a dozen or more throughout the set, depending on the sophistication of the model.

The regulators, like any part in the set can fail with age and use. Sometimes they are damaged from other components failing, or when a regulator fails, it can damage the circuit areas that it is suppying. When the set is being service, the tech must check for other failed parts.

SOURCE: sony color TV model kv-c29 11d blown power supply ic and transist

There should be circuit designations printed on the PC board. Without those, there are too many possibilities to give you anything useful. Can you provide those please?

Thanks,
Dan

Video 1 illumination wont shut off.

There is trouble in the video swithing Ic inside your Tv. Either it may got damaged or video swiching voltage may not come to it from system ic. If the video swiching Ic is damaged, it is easy to replace and get the set repaired. If the System Control Ic is damaged it will cost more and may need retune it after replacement and giving its remote service code for further adjustments. You just call a technician and consult him about the matter.

No sound from tv channels but still getting sound from DVD movies; what's wrong?

Looks like switching IC problem. If you know repairing methods try locating the IC. search by the part No. of IC in Google. example- TC 4066 is a switching IC in some TV models. Look similar type in your TV.

Try accordingly after identification.

Video Board of the sony kv-32XBR200

have you heard about the jungle ic?

video board or what you call video detector, and video amplifier of a tv can only be found in the jungle ic or the system ic. try to resolder all pins of the ic.

you don't have to buy another board. if you can buy a schematic of the unit much easier for you fix it.
