Hi Peter,
Can you confirm which radio you have and also type of phone, Iphone, android or windows -etc.

Do you want to play music through the radio or is it just the phone connection?

Sounds like you may need to look at the bluetooth frequency's used ie 4.02 and 4.04 - if you can go into sub-menus on bluetooth settings there is an option usually to 'use another voice connection' or something similar - it sounds like one or the other unit is using 4.04 and the other 4.02 - so they connect but the audio element isnt syncing together - Check 'about' bluetooth on your phone - it may tell you if it uses 4.02 band or 4.04 - I would suggest if you knock all settings to the older 4.02 , then things should sync up fully - its the older technology standard, - hope this helps.

Testimonial: "Hello Richard, Thanks for your help. The car is a Ssangyong Rexton with factory fitted radio and Bluetooth hands free kit. My phone is a Sony Xperia. It was working however suddenly stopped. The phone tells me that it has paired but does not mute the radio when I make a call."

When on my phone it kicks me off the radio?

If you have a Bluetooth u-connect radio and Bluetooth phone it is likely the settings of the phone and car radio are to pair. I expert that during the pairing process and hands free operation the radio sets itself to mute.

Check settings!

Hope this helps?

Brown mute wire for new ken wood in 2002 rodeo, does it go with illumination wire, green/red or red/green?

Hi, i'll need a bit more info to be able to give you an opinion , am i correct in assuming the "new kenwood " is a radio/cd player ? If so do you have a car phone or a hands free kit for your mobile/cell phone ? Assuming the kenwood is a radio the mute wire has to be connected to the car phone/mobile hands free kit , this is usually described in the phone installation directions , how the mute system works is when you recieve a call the signal is sent via the phone system to the radio , which is where the mute wire comes into use .If you have either of the phone set ups i've described post back with there details , make , model etc ,if you do not have this type of system and are using an ear piece then the mute funtion can't be used , i hope this is of some help to you

If your radio doesn't support hands-free protocol, it will not pair. Check OM for your car/radio.

No sound from speakers

Possibilities are:
Disconnected cables
Fuse
Short cut from radio to the speakers
You may have to take the radio off and look and see and if is not it, you have to test the speakers as well the lines one by one with a tester

I cannot connect my samsung solstice - it keeps asking for password to be sent

Your nav/bluetooth system will for the car will issue a 4 digit code in the screen of the car, this is a code which you input into the phones keypad.

.On an LS this is generally found by going into the info screen , then phone , then settings then add phone at this point the code for the car should appear often 1111 , 1212 , etc.
Your phone will have a Bluetooth enabling feature, under its tools or settings menu. You will be need to authorize the phone to search or enable new devices.Search" Hands FREE" should appear as an optional device and a pairing mode icon will be visible. The phone will search, indicate an item found and then prompt you for the 4 digit pass code on the cars menu screen. This code when input into the phone will clear the transfer of a connection between the car and phone.
