Question about Cooktops
How to replace numbers that were "silk screened" onto stainless steel frame - and washed off. These are the numbers surrounding, but physically separate from the control knobs. They indicate the heating levels for each control knob which is used to control one or both of two concentric elements per knob. Viking's only solution is to buy a new cooktop. How ridiculous. Have you seen this problem before and/or do you have a reasonable solution for it?
I have the same problem. The previous suggestions are assanine and have Cleary not actually read the question. The question is how to replace the original heat numbers that rubbed off.

On each of the heating elements there is a thermostat that does two things. It is a high limit safety thermostat and then a different set of contacts turn on the hot surface light. Unfortunately, you can't just replace that part. You will need to isolate which element it is with a mutimeter and replace the entire element. When you turn one of the units on high you will see a dark line under the glass running 1/2 way across the elements. Those are the thermostats... Find the defective one and the rest is pretty simple to replace

By only 1 burner working, I take you mean only 1 ignites, then it sounds as though you have an issue with the spark module being defective. There is usually an access panel on the bottom of the unit, although not on all of them. Remember to disconnect from the electric.

Use DeBruce Polish, we use DeBruce Polish on all of our stainless steel. DeBruce Polish also works on glass cook tops. We get DeBruce Polish at debrucepolish.com.

You can get the main glass top, the part number is WB62T10525 and it runs just under $300.00, it is shown here as 51. It does take a bit of dis assembly to install it.
