White screen 8530

Have you tried a reset or a reboot? Try these steps:

1. Power off the cell phone by holding down the power button for at least 5 seconds. The screen should turn black. Now, let go of the button and press it again until the screen lights up again.

2. If the screen is still white while holding down the power button, open up the back of the cell phone and remove the battery. Wait for 30 seconds before putting the battery back in, to allow the software to reset itself. Put the battery back in and press the power button until the screen lights up again.

3. If you removed the battery and you still have a white screen, you may have a software issue. Go to a local cell phone repair company and have it replaced or fixed.

You need to perform a hard reset. Unfortunately you will lose all data you have on the device. Please remove your microSD card to salvage the files saved on there after performing the reset.

Follow these instructions:

Hard Reset

  1. Remove the battery and replace it.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Button
  3. Press and hold the Power Button until the phone powers on.
  4. You should see a simple menu showing options such as Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage and Simlock.
  5. Using the Volume Down button to navigate, Highlight Clear Storage
  6. Press the Power Button to select Clear Storage
  7. Confirm your decision with Volume Up for Yes. If you feel like backing out, press Volume Down.
This will return your phone to it's original, out-of-the-box condition, software-wise.

If even, after the Hard Reset your phone still reboots, contact your Customer Service department for a warranty replacement.

1 Answer legend when powered only shows white backround with HTc insignia...It's locked there. It will charge., I have tkaen the battery out but not luck. Any suggestion?

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

From your explanation, it sounds like you may have downloaded an application to your phone that is causing a driver conflict. Since you've attempted a 'Soft' reset (by removing your battery) you may need to perform a 'Hard' reset. This will reset your phone to its factory settings.

Performing a factory reset using phone buttons:

If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can perform a
factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.

1) With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly
press the POWER button.

2) Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME
DOWN button.

3) Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then;

4) press POWER.

5) When asked to confirm, press VOLUME UP.

If this does not work, you'll need to return your phone for repair.

Can you fix my low on memory palm centro. It erased all of my photos and won't take new ones. It says momory is too low. Can you fix?

you have to reset your phone in order to fix that..but you have to save all your important data before you do the is how..

Performing a soft reset is similar to restarting a computer. If your Centro device is not responding or you're having trouble synchronizing with your computer, a soft reset may
help. All your information is retained when you perform a soft reset.

1. Remove the battery from your device, and then reinsert it.

Note: The reset begins when you insert the battery and ends when the
Date & Time Preferences screen appears.

2. Select Done.

Replacing the Battery

Your Centro device comes with a replaceable battery. Be sure to use a battery that is approved by Sprint and that is compatible with your device. Failure to use the proper
battery may result in personal injury or product damage, and it voids your device warranty.
1. Press Power/End palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_2.jpg to turn off the screen.
2. Gently press down on the Battery Door, and then slide the door downward to remove it from your device.
3. Place a finger in the notch next to the battery and lift the battery up at a 45-degree angle to remove it from the compartment.
4. Align the metal contacts on the new battery with the contacts inside the battery compartment.

5. Insert the new battery into the compartment at a 45-degree angle, pressing it into place. Slide the battery door onto the back of the device until it clicks into place.
6. Connect your device to the charger or sync cable.
7. Wait for your device to turn on, and then enable the network time or set the date and time when prompted.

System Reset

A system reset, also called a safe or warm reset, can be useful if your device loops or freezes during a soft reset. Performing a system reset allows you to get out of the loop and restores limited functionality to your device in order to uninstall a third-party application that's causing the problem. Note that after a system reset, you must perform a soft reset to restore full functionality, including the wireless features, to your device.

1. Remove the battery from your device.
2. Press and hold Up palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_3.jpg on the 5-way palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_4.jpg while reinserting the battery.
3. When Date & Time Preferences appears, release Up palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_3.jpg
4. Delete the third-party application that you suspect is causing the problem.
5. Perform a soft reset. (The wireless features of your device are not available until you complete this step.)
ard Reset

A hard reset erases all information and third-party software on your Centro device. Never perform a hard reset without first trying a soft reset and a system reset. You can restore previously synchronized information the next time you synchronize.

A hard reset can tell you if a problem stems from your Centro device or from an application installed on it. If you do not experience the problem after you perform a hard reset, the problem is related to software you installed.

Important: If you set a password on your device, performing a hard reset reformats your device (the message "Reformatting in progress" is displayed). This is a more severe form of a hard reset, which removes all your information and restores your formats, preferences, and other settings to the factory default settings.

Note: Some third-party applications do not create a backup on your computer when you synchronize. If you perform a hard reset, you may lose data in these applications and you need to reinstall these applications after the hard reset. Please contact the developer to find out which information is backed up during synchronization.

i hope it will help you..thanks for trusting fixya

N73 hangs while starting up

The method of performing a hard-format, i.e resetting it completely to factory defaults and removing all data, is as follows:
  1. Switch off the phone.
  2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and '3' button
  3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone
  4. When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release all of the buttons
Note that you shouldn't switch the phone off or remove the battery when performing either of these operations, and it's advised that the handset has a reasonable amount of battery charge before performing a format/reset.
