Question about Dual XDMR7710 CD Player

1 Answer

Buttons don't do what they are supposed to.

Some of the buttons on the player don't work correctly. For example, when I press the eject button, it changes the band of the radio. Another example is that when I press the radio preset number one, it goes to preset two.

Every Button Switches Between Radio and CD

Reset the radio by pressing a sharp object (pin, pen, etc.) into the small reset hole on or behind the face. If it doesn't have one, disconnect the negative cable from the battery for two minutes and reconnect. If you still have this problem, the radio is bad.

The panel will no longer recognize some of the buttons. for example, the source button doesn't work nor the push-menu. the power and eject button still works. How do i fix this?

it is possible ;you may have a bad switch. if you have a multimeter, try checking all the switches. if one or more is less than a few megaohms, it may be bad.

You need to visit Alpines' site to download the owner's manual for your unit. In the mean time here is some info from the troubleshooting guide for your error code.

• Mechanism error.
1. Press the "eject" button and eject the CD.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.
2. When the error indication remains after ejecting,
press the "eject" button again.
If the error indication still does not turn off after
pressing the "eject" button for a few times, consult your
Alpine dealer.
When the "- - - E" is displayed:
In case that the disc cannot be ejected by pressing the "eject"
button, press the RESET switch (refer to page 4) and
press the "eject" button again.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.

Good luck.

Cd ejection

Look for a tiny, recessed Reset button on the front of the unit with the face removed. Press this button with a pen tip; it should spit out the CD and work correctly afterwards. This will also erase your station presets and audio settings.

CD do not eject

I have the same prob with mine right now and thats why I came here was to find the manual. In the manual it states that that when something like this happens you need to hold two buttons for a few seconds and what it does is it resets the cpu in the deck. I had to do it before and yes I was kind of leary of the solution also but IT WORKED!! Now I'll have to dig before posting this otherwise I didnt just create a common solution I talked about it. Ok while holding power/ATT press eject for more than two seconds, and it says careful not to drop the cd~~~DAAA Or to reset the unit: While holding SEL (select) press power/ATT for more than two seconds and that will reset the unit to factory defaults. And this was actually from my owners manual of which I found...
