Can I remove the front part of the tub from the drum if I support the drum?

LG Washer. I previously posted a question regarding a foreign object between drum and tub. I have disassembled the majority of my LG washer. My question is can I support the tub prior to removal and only remove the front portion of the tub? I am looking for a 99 cent lighter I believe went between the tub and drum. I do not wish to remove the motor and all that as I am not replacing any of that unless I can't find the lightersuch as spider arm or bearings. My washer has a built in heater and therefore the service manual is of no help as it says to remove heater and take a long screw driver or similar to see if you can fish it out. But that is not an option. I know that lighter got wedged in between somehow and it is stuck on something but I hear it clinking around. Also the lighter was not in the clothes just the plastic wrapping of the lighter. So do I have to completely dismantle or can I support the tub and only remove the front part of the tub? Thanks

Lg washer top loader E6...what's wrong

The E6 error indicates that the clutch is malfunctioning. This usually occurs because a foreign object is lodged between the pulsator and the tub/drum. Take all items out, and check the seam between the tub/drum and the pulsator for objects such as zippers, coins etc.. Take them out with pliers

Their is a loud scraping noise when the washer begins the cycle. I have cleaned out the filters and there was no noticeable lime build up nor debris. The tub spins freely but the noise is persistent. We...

Have you check the pump, all front load washer drain before filling. If you have coins or foreign object inside pump the can be the cause of scraping noise. I would also check the tub for nails or object that can poke through and tub on the outer tub during rotation. Most of the time its a foreign object in the pump issue. Good luck..

Maytag Epic Z Washer has object between drum and tub.

I had the same rattling during spin cycle of my Maytag 4000 series front loading washer. Noticed you could gently pull back on the rubber gasket between the tub and where the door seals. There was a quarter resting against the fixed ring the tub spins in. Problem solved. And I have further realized that long hair can build up in this same spot. But if you didn't know to pull back on the gasket you wouldn't see it. Good luck!

Filter

if you have a foreign object in the washer, this can not be removed by checking the filter
remove the heater and you can see into the gap between drum and tub and remove whatever is there

Zannussi

this is not easy

disconnect water and elec

remove the top (2 screws at rear) then remove hoses. remove rear cabinet half - 2-3 screws at top, 1 screw each side at bottom behind plastic covers and 2 screws at bottom rear. back half of cabinet then slides off.

take wires off heater and remove heater - it is held by 1 10mm nut in centre.

you can then see into gap between tub and drum and locate foreign object and remove.

assembly is the reverse

Grinding noise when drum rotates

may be a foreign object trapped in between the inner and outer tub. Major Disassembly required to split the outer tub. May also be the rear bearing in which case back half will have to be replaced.

Washer wont spin belt came off put it back and tested on a spin but then it started making weird noises so we stopped it. turned drum manually but then drum jammed going one way but not the other

two possible causes. first - foreign object stuck between tub and drum. take heater out and you can peer into the gap between tub and drum second - bearings collapsed and im afraid this is the most likely cause. if memory serves me right, hotpoint supply a replacement tub and drum assembly at vast cost. lots of problems with bearings on the wma series
