It sounds like your Backlighting has gone out. Look at the LCD screen at an angle in light while it is playing sound and see if you can see graphics working. If so, your backlight is out. You will need to send it in to Sony (lowest cost) contact them at www.playstation.com . If you do not qualify with them under warranty Click on the "repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. Look up "Video Game Consoles" in the directory and pick you out a good Playtstation Repair shop.

That sounds like a firmware corruption problem. If you want to change a board, then its the digital board. Personally I dont think its worth it. It's probably going to happen again as Vizio uses substandard parts. Might be worth checking to see if you have any bloated caps since its a known issue. good luck!
Black Screen
When you turn the machine ON, if there is no display on the control screen and also there is no sound of warming up, then the problem is with the Print Conrol Board, (Main Mother Board) replace it and your problem is solved. Before doing that you can try replacing the RAMs.
Secondly, If you hear machine's normal warming up rotation sound and there is no display on the screen then please check the Display Cable, white VGA like cable connected with the control panel.Check, it may be loose or not properly connected.
Yeah there is nothing to it. Just go up to your PS3 and hold down the power button untill it beeps. This should reset everything back to default on you system
if you are not getting the sound then try checking the sound button on the right bottom side of the screen that has been put on "mute" or not... check for the speaker power button or the volume button on the speakers itself... also try uninstalling & reinstalling the sound drivers...
this is a common problem, the vertical hold has been damaged.dont leave the teli. on,the white line will burn the middle of the screen and leave a black mark. You need a new integrated circuit(i.c.) for vertical hold.
make sure speaker are turned on and volume is turned up or half.
make sure speakers are not set to mute, bottom right corner of yoru screen there should be a speaker icon, double click to open it and make sure noting is muted.
