This is for Winbook WinBest 233MMX may be good for other Winbooks
Had trouble booting then just quit booting altogether...
For a quick fix that won't require soldering....
Replace the
cmos battery. If it is more than 7 years old, it will most likely be weak or dead.
Remove the keyboard by sliding the KB toward you and lift the top up and slide out, Remove KB
ribbon cable from connector by pulling on the plastic tab, remove the 4pin KB power connector. Then remove bottom screws and separate the case.
Locate the 3V battery, Pry the top tab of the 3v battery off the welded ends with a small needlenose, Pry the battery off the mini board, bend battery tabs so the new non-tabbed battery will be squeezing the new battery for contact, + is up!, add a piece of electrical tape to secure it from sliding. Replace bottom case and screws and then re-attach
keyboard ribbon cable and 4 wire power connector. Re-boot and reset cmos ( CTRL-ALT-S ) on boot. Set your time. You must set the boot sequence to C:. It will then auto boot to C: WALLA! WIN98!
